| Playpens I Am getting my little pup on Tuesday. I have some time off work to spend with her but I'm trying to think ahead about what I am going to do when I return to work. I am going to potty train her on the per pads. Has anyone keep their dogs in a play pen? Is that big enough? My choices are the playpen or the master bathroom. Not sure I'm thrilled about that option. Any suggestions? |

YT 2000 Club Member | Congratulations on your new furbaby! A pack n play works great for a while. I've never left my Teeka so I don't know how well it would work for all day. Good luck with your new baby!

| Hello! Bet you can't wait for Tuesday to come around.... I think playpens and exercise pens are a brilliant idea for tiny ones - but if you DO decide to go with one, it might be worth trying it out for quite a while while you're at home before leaving her for 7ish hours....a lot of our Littlies are climbers and escape artists.... | We have a plastic playpen for jasmin. Plenty of room for her. she is almost 6lbs and close to 16 inches in length. Our playpen is 36 in width x 36 length x 24 height. She has never jumped over it. |

| I think play pens are a great thing if you have to leave and go somewhere. I would get one with a top you can take off and on because many little yorkies seem to be able to escape the play pens without tops. Make sure she has food and water in the play pen.

| Planning on food/water, potty box, and a bedding area. Is a playpen big enough? |

| Just be careful of the playpen you buy. Some pups like to climb and some pens are easier to climb than others. I bought the IRIS pen and ZoE scaled it's walls with ease at about 10 weeks old. I'd only had it up a couple of days and had to take it down, when I saw her tipping over the top of it. I put her back down and watched her climb it again. Scared the heck out of me that she was going to fall from the top of it. Check reviews. I wish I had read Amazon's reviews on that pen, because I wouldn't have wasted money on it.

| We had a playpen set up for Liberty from day one. He's one of the tiny squirts so there is room for his pillow bed, dishes, and a section with pee pad just in case he can't wait until I get home. I was afraid from the stories about them scaling the sides and escaping, so we did some condition training where we reward with treat and mega praises (acting crazily excited) about him being patient until let out. So far, he's not tried to get out but the sides are high. We've not had to use the top. Adding his pillow bed in there before I leave seems to make it more "his". The playpen is a portable so is easy to store in the trunk for road trips. It really also helped with house breaking! |

| Well they make dog ones and baby ones which are you talking about? It depends probably on the size of the pup because to big and they will probably potty everywhere at first.

| Yes, i'm super excited about the DVD! It runs for 2 hours, so I thought it would help with the transition of us leaving for work in the morning. She should be fairly settled by the time it runs out. I hope it works I think I am going to pick up a baby playpen from the store tomorrow. They make mesh covers to keep bugs out and I'll probably grab one of those too, just incase I am getting an escape artist! |

| Great idea! I think I have most everything I need for Tuesdays homecoming! Potty box, litter pellets, food, formula, toys, crate, bedding, a big fluffy blanket, a stuffed dog as a mommy sub, brush, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, nail clippers, bows, a pink hoodie, yorkie shampoo, conditioner, and detangler are being shipped, food/water bowls, a pink collar. Tomorrow picking up playpen, baby gates, enzyme spray, the pee smelling spray for the potty box. Am I forgetting anything? |
