| Can yorkies eat fruits and veggies? I dropped a piece of my honeydew melon earlier today and bentley gobbled it up before i could get to it!!! I hope it doesnt upset his tummy..... But apparently he liked it... I would love to use fresh veggies and fruit as treats if are safe for him!! I would rather use the all natural fruit than a treatfrom a bag.

| Good to hear they are safe!! My fiance apparently gave him a baby carrot today to play with and chew on... Since i havent found it in my im guessing he ate that too lol... I dont really allow meat except boiled chicken.. But bentley sure looooves a few bites of that, though im sure he would try for the whole chicken if i allowed it.... My soon to be mother in law tried to give him a piece of bacon.... First time i have EVER told her NO... I dont think theyre supposed to have pork are they?????

| Not only can dogs eat fruits and veggies but they add important nutrients to their diet. Chloe LOVES her fruits and veggies especially frozen veggies lol. I also cook up yams to add to her raw diet. She is wild about yams! There are some surprising foods that are not safe for dogs and can cause serious health issues. Here is a list of foods not to give your little one. Toxic fruits and veggies Grapes and raisins - can cause acute renal failure. Apple. pear, peach and cherry seeds - these seeds contain small amounts of cyanide Onions, garlic chives - can lead to anemia, seizure, liver and kidney problems and other issues Avocado - can cause vomiting and diarreha Tomatoes - can cause tremors and heart arrhythmias Other unsafe food Chocolate - can cause seizures, coma and death. Caffeine - causes many of the same symptoms as chocolate Macadamia Nuts - can cause weakness, muscle tremor and paralysis Nutmeg - can cause tremors, seizure and death. I agree that with all of the chemicals and additives in commercially prepared dog food that it's difficult to find treats you feel comfortable offering to your little one. I offer Chloe a wide variety of fruits and veggies and not only is she happy but shes healthy and I never have to worry about her treats being recalled lol Hope this helps

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | Katie Scarlett adores fresh fruit and veggies. Her fave is celery, but she also gobbles up green beans, banana, pineapple, and just tried watermelon. I only give her a little bit at a time though. I keep trying carrots, but she just doesn't like those I think. She will nibble the teeniest bit and then walk off.

| Jaeger used to love carrots and cucumber, but he's getting burnt out on them. He loves brussel sprouts, melon, bananas (doesn't get them often because they make him constipated) apple, peaches, potatoes, summer squash, pumpkin, and his newest OMG PLEASE MOM food is cherries. He'll sit and do trick after trick to try and entice me to give him half a cherry. If he gets burnt out on a food, if i cook it, he eats it usually. He gets kibble at 5:30 and wish, but he gets a small "salad" around noon. |

| I accidently spilled some frozen corn pieces on the kitchen floor a few days ago, and my shih gobbled them up, to my surprise, I understand corn is not good for them, but I am going to try others that are better, when they were younger they loved the baby carrots, mostly chewed on them and played with those. i'll ry som fruits , and see if they enjoy them, and peas. Anther dangerous item to always never allow your dogs to have is alcohal. I was visiting our managers not too long ago and they have a large german shepard type of dog and a med. sized dog, one of the cans of alcohal spilled over , and I was ready to hose the sidewalk down, to my dismay, they manager allowed their dogs to lick the drink up , and they said their dogs have drank drinks like this before, I was shocked, but they were not my dogs , but was unhappy over their decision.
