Mine are actually really good when I have to leave. I never make a big a deal that I am going out. They know when I get my purse I am going and they just get up on the couch and lay down. When they hear me pull in the garage they are at the kitchen door waiting for it to open. They do however do not like me for me to go out in the evening. It's a bigger ta do when I get home then. Don't know why. |
Most times Cooper goes with me, he sits on the steps and waits for me to say,, you can go. If I don't say that his tiny little face looks at me, tilts his head, like he wants to know where I'm going and how long I will be. Well at least that is what I think he wants to know, so I say just going blah blah be back in an hour. I leave a treat on the step he never eats til I get back but he checks to make sure I left it. I adore that little furbutt. He makes me happy everyday. I'm truly blessed to be his person. When I first got him he freaked and barked when I left... Now he knows I will be back each time so he doesn't freak anymore. |
Mya knows I'm about to leave when she hears the sound of me grabbing my keys. She jumps in front of me before I leave my bedroom. she puts her paws over my feet, and she also jumps side to side. There's a child-proof gate at the hallway entrance and she makes it known at the gate that she's not happy about my leaving. It doesn't matter that my husband is still in the house or my daughter. she bites at the gate and her cries are seriously loud. |
1 Attachment(s) Henri won't let me put my shoes on when I get ready to leave, he sits or stands on my feet. He also tries to "climb" up my leg, one time he even jumped into my purse and gave me a look that said "Ok, lets go!" my purse isn't even a meant to carry a dog! This is him, not letting me put my other shoe on:p |
Kaji pouts. He sits and sulks in bed. Makes me wish I could just cuddle him for 15 more minutes. :( |
Louie has figured out how long I will be gone based on my pants. If I put on scrub pants, he goes "no, mommy! Don't go to work!!" He then starts growling and tugging on my pants. Then he goes and sits in front of the door so that I can't open it. If I or my husband start getting dressed in normal clothes, however, he gets really excited because he's just sure that we must be taking him wherever we are going, then he gets really sad if we don't take him, and goes to lay down on his bed. It's the saddest thing ever. |
Susie knows the difference when we are going to take her or not, if I say "stay", she will get up on the sofa, via steps and will sit there waiting to be thrown her "treats"(puff jerky) and barks until she gets them, I have to throw them around the sofa so its like a game to her of hide and seek with the treats, then she will get on the sofa back to look out for us out the window and when we arrive home, it's like having a kid when I used to bring home crisps for them from the club at night, she goes mental kissing us and rubbing herself on me me until she calms down. We have to keep a small treat of chicken and hide it in my handbag for her to search it out. If I say yes you are coming today, she will wait by the door and when its opened, she goes outside and sits on the step looking at us to say ok I'm ready when you are. so cute, it's as if she knows exactly what we are saying |
It is such a cute picture... Corky just sits waiting for us to leave. His mommy always tells him bye before she leaves for school. I assume he just lays in his bed. Because when I come back (without him mom) he in in bed. |
Tee hee! How cute! I'm afraid I can't answer the question though. Katie scarlett has never been alone. I'm a domestic goddess and always home. Lol. When she can't go with us she goes to doggy daycare or grandma's. I know, she's spoiled rotten but when I tried to leave her alone that first time and heard that cry I gave in. I just couldn't do it. I do not have any skin kids though so she is like my child. I could never leave her alone. |
