OMG! I would be livid. Specially when you leave specific instructions. So sorry this happened to you. Please let us know what you hear from the corporate office, not that it will change anything. |
OH MY GOSH!!!!!! I would be beyond furious! It takes SO long to get a top knot to where you want it and then to have some idiot chop it off! I am angry just thinking about it. They owe you BIG TIME! You trusted them with your baby and they have an obligation to follow your instructions, this is no small screw up. I sure hope you refused to pay them. I am so sorry this happened. Please let us know what kind of response you get. I too have been upset by a groomer. I took Chloe to PetSmart and the following day I was brushing her hair and noticed a cut on her head. I know without a doubt that it happened there as it was under her topknot which I had left in overnight. When I called to complain saying that I should have been told they said that they hadn't cut her as it would have been noted. Just like many others here I now do the grooming myself aside from nail cutting. Again SO sorry to hear this and I hope that they respond in a way that makes you feel they care about you and that they are taking responsibility for the mistake. |
i am sorry this happened to you . i feel your pain. my pet and i had a bad experience as well at a petco. they seriously hurt my dog and when i called to speak to the manager and to the groomer both completely denied it right off the bat without even hearing what i had to say. never offering an apology. i despise that place , i do not even shop there anymore. its not much comfort at the moment but don't worry her hair will grow back and maybe it will be stronger and more beautiful . |
So sorry you are upset. I always did Paris' hair myself. Maybe you can learn how to also? |
I can understand why you'd be upset! Why on earth would they cut her topknot? I used to bring my shih tzu to be groomed. They always did a decent job, but I'm very picky and would find little things that bothered me every time. I kept him in a full coat with a top knot and they knew that I wanted the hair by his eyes kept longer so that it wouldn't poke into them. The last time I took him to be groomed, he'd SHAVED from the bridge of his nose, up between his eyes and looked ridiculous. I gave up on his full coat as he mats so easily and he dislikes topknots, but I got my own grooming tools and do his hair myself. Belle, my Yorkie, has never been to a groomer, I do everything myself. Every once in a while I think about bringing her in to a professional groomer, then I read one of these posts and remember why I've always done it myself. |
I cannot believe they did that! I would NOT be paying for a hair cut if they did that to my two. Why would they thin out the top knot?! Wth... |
I would be SOOOOOO upset!!! I had a bad grooming experiance too....hence the reason I groom my crew myself now!!! |
I'm so sorry this happened! I know you must be so terribly disappointed. I hope her hair grows quickly! *HUG* |
Oh how terrible! I'm also a Mommy who does all the grooming myself so I can't relate, but I sure do hope they at least call you back. I would definitely go back and talk to the groomer though. They need to know they messed up, and hopefully that will help them to pay more attention to their job, so that another Mommy doesn't go through this. |
and this is why I groom the furbutts myself....They may not look perfect but the look the way I want them to look...Sorry this happened to you.. |
I have had something like that happen to me with my dogs too. They just don't listen!! With Remy I told him NOT to cut the hair on her face.. and they shaved the hair between the eyes and the nose... hmmm what part of do not cut hair on her face was I not clear on??? I am thinking of learning how to groom the fur buts my self!! |
Oh no! I'm so sorry! That's just awful. I would be very frustrated as well, hugs to you and your fur baby! |

Update on Ciarra's topknot Well after 6 calls to the corporate office of Petco I still have not received a single phone call back to address the situation. I did get in touch with the manager of the local store and he told me that he and the groomer watched the video and she never touched Ciarra's topknot. So they have totally dismissed me and the situation with no type of resolution. One of the other groomers at Petco said oh Ciarra was matted... No, her topknot has never been matted. So sounded like they were trying to get their stories straight. My question to all of you... Since the groomer thinned it out so badly.. she has pieces 1/4 inch sticking up on the top of her head and in so many lenghts should I leave it? Its not like she just cut 2 inches off it is thinned out ALOT she cannot even wear her bows without them falling out. Do I need to try and tip some of these parts to have it grow out to the way it was? Ciarra had a very thick all one lenght topknot that I had to keep up at all times even at night because it fell over in her face when it was taken down. Now it is one skinny, whispy string.:( Thanks everyone for your input, feedback, love and compassion. ~Jeanna~ Ciarra and Bentley\'s mom |
OH NO SHE DIDN\'T...I would be so mad. Did you pay? |
