May we welcome..... 2 Attachment(s) FUDGE!!!! :D After losing our jack russel/scottie dog Guinness about two weeks ago, my mum has been missing having her own little dog to cuddle and follow her around (Millie prefers to cutch up in her bed at the moment) so i started looking on Preloved for a yorkie/puppy for her for after christmas when an advert kept popping up for a 2 year old yorkie female for rehoming. They were charging a fee of £150 so i text the ad holder for more info and we decided to travel up the next day (sunday just gone) We travelled a 200 mile round trip to see her and when we got there, we couldnt believe our eyes! We went to the house that was owned by two young girls (about my age 20/21 -ish) it was dirty and had junk every where and full of kids. there were also 3 yorkies other in crates barking and Fudge was loose running around and she just flopped on her back when she saw us and ran and hid behind a safety gate. My family and i just looked at each other and we decided we HAD to get Fudge out of there. She was dirty and greasey and i don think she had EVER been brushed/bathed or clipped and was so skinny! She had no lead, collar, bed or toys with her either. She doesn't even know how to play. When we got her home, she was so shy and just wanted to cuddle on mine and my mums lap so we took her straight for a bath and when she came back down she was a completely different dog!! she was SOOOO HAPPY! we got her bathed and clipped at the groomers yesterday and she looks amazing. Shes so happy now and i think she realises how lucky she is that we got her out of that place. The only problem is that we cant get her to eat any thing apart from bits of fresh chicken if we pretend we are feeding her from our plate at the table (yes VERY bad manners but its the only way she will eat) and she dosent seem to pee much. She had NEVER been for a walk judging by her reaction when we take her out (like us seeing everything for the first time and cant get enough of walkies!!) he dosent know any commands, isnt toilet trained and she has been bred from. We will be working our hardest ASAP to sort all these things out and she is going to the vet for a check this after noon. She's SOOOOOO loving though and is such a happy little girl now and my mum loves her "christmas present" even more now as shes had a bad past and shes settling and getting on with our other dogs well and we are proud to say that she is ours and at her forever home, no matter how many problems she has needing to be sorted out :D We love our happy ever after rescued girl!! Heres some pics of her before and after her groom (scruffy pic is after first bath) and with my yorkie Millie :aimeeyork:D |
Please your hearts for rescuing poor little Fudge. What a wonderful thing you did. I just cannot understand people that treat dogs like this. It is so sad & SO unnecessary. Wishing you all the best of everything. I bet Fudge will turn into the best dog ever & what a looker! :D |
:D i know its really soon after losing Guinness but we couldnt leave her there. She needed us. Shes got so many characteristics of Guinness its unbelieveable, i think we were meant to have her and i think it was fate that i kept seeing her advert as i called a few other ad's but either couldnt get through or they had been rehomed where as with Fudge everything was straight forward. Its so sad that she doesnt even know how to play but we are trying to get her to understand that its fun and normal. She is an amazingly happy and loving little girl that has really come out of her skin since bringing her home. Mum feels guilty that we got another dog so soon after Guinness but as i told her "you can NEVER replace, its just ADDING to the family" This little pup has many happy years ahead of her with us and will have to get used to being spoilt rotten!! :D I think all of our christmas wishes have been answered by her coming home with us, i think she thinks the same :D |
Bless you for adopting her, she is a beautiful girl and so glad that she has a wonderful home. |

I love hearing rescue stories. Now she can be the princess she was meant to be! |
she is beautiful! I am trying to rescue a little boy right now. He's a couple hors away from me and I am waiting to see if he's still availabe. Some lady gave him away to someone else who's sellin him for $80. He needs groomed so badly, neutered and shots. I pray that this will work out for me. My DH doesn't understand how I feel though. Bless you for adopting her! |
Awww so happy for you such a cutie! |

What a wonderful end to her horrible beginings. You and your mom saved this beautiful baby and I have no doubt about that at all! Now she can settle in for a wonderful warm, loving and yummy Christmas with her very own present to open. You just go ahead and feed that baby chicken, even broiled steak, for as long as it takes for her to build up a nice appitite. I home cook for all of mine, and now have a 13 week old girl that I'm cooking for. It's wonderful to see them loving their meals and being so healthy. ;) Have you tried putting her food bowl down in the same area with your girl at meal time? They tend to eat much better as a pack. This is what I do for my new baby. |
Fudge is a little beauty! It certainly seems like you were meant to find her :) |
Thank You for finding Fudge and giving her a real home with your Mum. Merry Christmas to you all. Millie is adorable and Fudge looks so loved now ! |
Fudge is CUTE!!! Congrats on your new family member. I think Fudge got lucky also. |
It's so great of you to have saved Fudge from that dirty place. I'm certain she has never had it so good or felt so good after being bathed and groomed. She probably feels like a million dollars (er pounds).:) She is very cute. Of course, so is Millie! They'll be great friends. It sounds like she just loves her walks. I know mine certainly does. I hope she continues to do well. I believe, as you do, that they know when they've been rescued and bond with their new person very closely. Please keep us up to date on how things go.:) |
She is a cutie!! So glad u rescued her!! Big hugs!!! |
Wow thank you for all these kind messages! I will definately show my mum later! Little update on Fudge: She still isnt eating that often but we managed to get her to eat a large plate of food this morning and shes started going OUTSIDE for wee's now and again which is a very big improvement. She is definately getting used to being pampered now and is loving every minute. Millie is starting to accept her and has even tried to play and chase her which Fudge got very confused about but it was so sweet to watch! x |
It sounds like Fudge has a wonderful home and family. It will take time for her to figure things out, but she will eventually have it all down and will be a wonderful addition to your family.:) |
That is such a nice story! Fudge is a real cutie and Millie is a doll! |
Aww she is a cutie!! She is very lucky you and your mom found her (: |
Awww Welcome Fudge!!! |
