Pit bull attack Just found out my step sisters yorkie was attacked by two pitbulls last night. I feel sorry for this little baby. He was taken to the er vet and he had to have surgery, extensive wounds and his intestines was literally hanging out. They did surgery and did not think he would make it the night but he surprised everyone and did. He will be there for quite some time. It really angers me that two pitbulls were on the loose and second that my step sister let Mosby out with no leash or fenced in yard. We don't get along really but some common sense may have been able to prevent this tragedy. Please keep this little guy in your prayers and I will update when I hear something. Thanks for listening |
So sad!!!! hate these kind of stories. I know i shouldnt say this, cause not all pit bulls are bad. But i dont like them. I have met some nice ones. But it makes me furious when i see one loose. They cause soo much damage , you would think people would be more careful. |
I am so sorry this has happened to Mosby. Sending prayers for a successful recovery and to ease his pain. |
I'm praying for a speedy recovery for this precious little one. |
This is so troubling. I feel that all pet owners should control their pets. I will pray for a full recovery. |
How sad :( I hope he pulls through... This is why my two are never off leash outside of a fenced area. It's also why the first thing we did when we moved into our new house was to fence the entire property. You just never know what can happen. |
Oh dear, poor Mosby. I can't imagine the nightmare this little boy has been through. Praying that he pulls through and continue to surprise everyone with his speedy recovery. We need a holiday miracle! |
I hope the little guy pulls through. Poor thing. |
OMG... How horriable! That is just so horrible, is anything going to be done with the pit bulls? I hope that someone will have to pay... Like someone said I agree pit bulls are not my favorite, they have the worst track record!! The little fur baby is in my thoughts and prayers!! |
aww im sorry to hear that my yorkie was attacked by a husky the vet did everything he could but sadly he had to be put down i hope he recovers soon :aimeeyorkonnie :aimeeyorkdollie:aimeeyorkollie jr :aimeeyorkr.i.p ollie |
It's so sad, but not suprising to me. So many pet owners just don't give a tinkers. Many states have enacted laws against pit bulls now, but until the real culprits (owners) are made to pay, I feel it's useless to ban certain breeds of dogs. We had a lovely little doxie when I was girl that was so tiny and such a sweet boy, but a neighbor's German shepard attacked and killed him. This dog would actually jump on the hood's of cars when they pulled up to the stop sign on the street in front of their yard! My mother was at work, and my older brother had accidently left a door ajar enough for him to escape! What a shame for the poor baby! No pet should be off leash and alone when outside in a close neighborhood setting, and especially a breed this small.I will be sending healing thoughts and prayers for the little angel! |

I'm sick of pits being known as a bad breed and sick of hearing about them being responsible for attacks. So sick of irresponsibility and them being so over bred. FYI all they aren't the most aggressive of dog they require specialty training, and due to their availability and image we get all kinds of irresponsible people owning, breeding and letting them loose literally. There is an exception with the blues though and a neurological issue being found now. Off my sick of podium on pits... I'm so sorry this happened to your sister's dog! There is no reason this should ever happen! Yorkies are such little tough dogs we always seem them in their dresses and and bows and forget these lil guys and gals are such little fighters when something like this happens. They may not have expected Mosby to pull through but it just goes to show you how reliant Yorkies are, if Mosby made it this far then has a good chance! Totally sending positive energy her way! Give her hugs for all of us she must be devastated. :animal-paHopefully this will not cause her to develop at a hatred. :( |
Praying for the little fighter. |
sending lots of prayers for this little one! |
How awful:( I hope the little one will be okay, and that the big dogs' owner will be punished. Mosby may have been off-leash, and that's bad, but those bigger dogs being off leash is so much worse, as they have a high prey-drive and will go after anything small and furry:unlove: Agh, when are folks going to learn to keep their dogs leashed, big and small?!?! Praying for Mosby:hands: |
How awful. This seems like this sort of thing is happening more and more frequently. What can be done about these careless owners who let dogs roam free, especially big dogs?? The owners are the villians here. |
Praying for the little one. After reading the threads on coyotes, owls and such, I think it is a good idea to start using leashes on my babies. My yard is fenced, but we live in the country and I see wild animals all the time. I'm getting nervous about letting them out! I hope the pit owners will pay the vet bills! |
Sending my thoughts and prayers for the sweet baby and her mommy. I have to say, I will definitely tighten up a bit around a pit bull BUT it is not these dogs who are at fault here. I am so sick to death of them paying for the irresponsible people who own them. This owner needs to pay for the damage and the penalties for allowing them to roam needs to be stiffer. I think if the penalties were harsher people would take a little more responsibility. Do you know how the little one is doing today? |

pitties should be like guns. in the wrong hands can be lethal so you should have to have a license and take a handling class and pass before you can own them... |
I wont even get into the whole fact this was a pitbull, I agree with some of concretegurls comments and will just leave it as that. No dog should even be off leash, or out of it's owners control... ESPECIALLY any Pitbull or similar breed as they are know for Dog Aggression. I hope that stating they have a horrible "track record" you were referring to their attacks on dogs not people. Because they are bred to love people and to be loyal to them no matter what. [Of course every so often there is an attack against a person, but I don't believe there's a breed out there that has never bitten someone Shih Tzus, Cocker Spaniels, and Heeler's are among the worst... not Pitbulls, not matter how much media they get for it. Half the time the dog on the news isn't even a Pitbull because people are too dumb to know the difference between all the similar looking breeds.] Anyways... I hope the li'l yorkie is okay. And I hope the other owners are helping with the medical cost because all in all those pitbulls should have been on leashes/chains/tall fenced area. You should see if you city as BSL towards pitbulls and the owners could be fined as well. |

WELL SAID!!! It's the owners that need to be held responsible and given the bad rep! Pits are no worse or better than any other dog when it comes to aggression. It is ALL in how one is raised or better yet, NOT RAISED! Look at Cesar Milan's pit bull DADDY! I have never seen a more calm and friendly fella! It's the human holding the leash that's the problem! |
Oh, that little one will be in my prayers and keep us posted on any progress. Poor baby!!! |
Wanted to update on Mosby. He is really a true fighter. He is not totally out of the woods yet, but as of now the vet does believe he will make it. Thank You for all your prayers and please keep them coming. |
Prayers for Mosby. What a horrible thing for a little one to go through. :( |
Praying that Mosby has a full reovery. |
Poor little Mosby! I hope he pulls through! Bless his heart! |
