How awful. This seems like this sort of thing is happening more and more frequently. What can be done about these careless owners who let dogs roam free, especially big dogs?? The owners are the villians here. |
Praying for the little one. After reading the threads on coyotes, owls and such, I think it is a good idea to start using leashes on my babies. My yard is fenced, but we live in the country and I see wild animals all the time. I'm getting nervous about letting them out! I hope the pit owners will pay the vet bills! |
Sending my thoughts and prayers for the sweet baby and her mommy. I have to say, I will definitely tighten up a bit around a pit bull BUT it is not these dogs who are at fault here. I am so sick to death of them paying for the irresponsible people who own them. This owner needs to pay for the damage and the penalties for allowing them to roam needs to be stiffer. I think if the penalties were harsher people would take a little more responsibility. Do you know how the little one is doing today? |

pitties should be like guns. in the wrong hands can be lethal so you should have to have a license and take a handling class and pass before you can own them... |
I wont even get into the whole fact this was a pitbull, I agree with some of concretegurls comments and will just leave it as that. No dog should even be off leash, or out of it's owners control... ESPECIALLY any Pitbull or similar breed as they are know for Dog Aggression. I hope that stating they have a horrible "track record" you were referring to their attacks on dogs not people. Because they are bred to love people and to be loyal to them no matter what. [Of course every so often there is an attack against a person, but I don't believe there's a breed out there that has never bitten someone Shih Tzus, Cocker Spaniels, and Heeler's are among the worst... not Pitbulls, not matter how much media they get for it. Half the time the dog on the news isn't even a Pitbull because people are too dumb to know the difference between all the similar looking breeds.] Anyways... I hope the li'l yorkie is okay. And I hope the other owners are helping with the medical cost because all in all those pitbulls should have been on leashes/chains/tall fenced area. You should see if you city as BSL towards pitbulls and the owners could be fined as well. |

WELL SAID!!! It's the owners that need to be held responsible and given the bad rep! Pits are no worse or better than any other dog when it comes to aggression. It is ALL in how one is raised or better yet, NOT RAISED! Look at Cesar Milan's pit bull DADDY! I have never seen a more calm and friendly fella! It's the human holding the leash that's the problem! |
Oh, that little one will be in my prayers and keep us posted on any progress. Poor baby!!! |
Wanted to update on Mosby. He is really a true fighter. He is not totally out of the woods yet, but as of now the vet does believe he will make it. Thank You for all your prayers and please keep them coming. |
