very frustrated by my little love I don't get it...Furgie is about to be 1...she has been so good lately with either peeing on her pee pad or outside...it has been a while since I have clean up an accident in the house. With in the last month though, she will sometimes pee on our bed!!! That is where she sleeps, never pees in the bed at night while we are sleeping. Just now, we just got home, no accidents anywhere, took her outside to go pee, which she did....then while I am getting ready for bed, I noticed she just peed on the bed!!! I am not sure if it is only when we just get home...seems to be when its in the evening...has anyone experienced this? I wonder is she being rebellious? Or is she so excited when we get home she doesn't empty her bladder enough the first time she pees? |
I wonder if you shouldn't rule out a health thing. It just sounds like something with her bladder before her training. I would at least rule out something in that area first and then go to work on retraining. Good luck hope it's nothing major and she stops that soon. |
I agree with Rachel. Before you get mad, you might want to test her for a UTI. My vet says it's much more common for girls to get them vs boys. I had the same problem with my baby boy. It turned out his urine was very acidic because he doesn't like to drink water. It was irritating his little bladder and stating to form crystals. Please have Fergie checked out by a vet first. If caught early, it's very simple to treat. If ignored, it can lead to bladder stones, and blood in their urine. that is very painful to the little ones. |
Thank you guys for you input. I'll have to give my vet a call on monday...how do they obtain a urine sample? |
When my Poppy was sick they said they could extract a sample or I could collect it. Extracting it did not sound pleasant to me - so I bought a large cooking spoon/ladel and when Poppy squatted to pee - I put the spoon under her. She used to look at me like I was a nut! Put the pee in a little rubbermaid container (the little cheap ones) and took that in. Worked like a charm. I normally got the morning pee. Good luck. |
Turn the potty pad upside down (Plastic side up). The pee will puddle and not soak in. Pour the urine in a container. Maybe that will work. |
Maybe she is coming into heat-- |
