Puppy Love vs. Money Love I have been doing a lot of thinking this week about just how much I love Wally, and of course the entire rest of my family and friends. I was thinking: what if someone offered me a ton of money, millions or even billions of dollars, and I wouldn't have to do anything, or give up anything, except Wally. I personally, absolutely would not accept the offer. Some people say this is naive, and that my answer sounds perfect in only in theory, but not if the opportunity were to present itself. There is no way that my dog, and my relationship with my dog, could be taken away for money. I don't want this post to be too long so You can read more about this: www.wallytheborkie.blogspot.com What are your thoughts? |
Of course! I wouldn't either! It may be tempting but come on!!! you've bonded to the dog. its like giving ur own child away for that amount of money. Coco is my baby girl and I wouldn't trade her for anything! |
I am so happy you agree! :) |
We were in class the other day and the dean was giving an ethics lecture, she asked us to think about the following. If you could have $10 million which would you do: -Go to jail for two years. -Move to a foreign country and never come back (not specified if its your choice) -push your pet off a cliff -never talk to your best friend again -none and I think there was one more but I can't remember Personally I think I'd go to jail. A guy in my group said he'd do the pet thing, I point blankly told him he was never allowed near harley again! Sad thing is my best friend said for $10 million she would never talk to me again (boy did that ever make me feel loved). But yeah I've decided that no sum of money could ever replace Harley, especially since he was bought as therapy to my anxiety and depression. |
There is NO amount of anything that would tempt me to give up any of mine. |
I feel that way about my yorkies and my cats |
What I get from Buster is priceless..no. Sorry about you best friend Kendra I am sure she would regret it. As for the guy in your group can we push him off the cliff and get the 10 million? |
I will push him for 5 million!! |
I would NEVER even consider giving away my precious Belle for any amount of money. She is my baby! :) |

I agree with you! Money is only good for getting us things we love, of course, we need some money for basic survival, but extra money is only good if we can get things we enjoy. There is nothing I can think of that I could buy that I would enjoy more than my little Joey. |

I would not sell my dogs for anything...Well, I spend most of my money on my babies...if I don't have them...what am going to do with all that money?!?!? I love my babies TOO MUCH and the love that they give...is indescribable! The way Carmel lays next to me at night and rolls on him tummy in the morning when I wake up...it all brings a very warm special love into my heart... My friends don't understand...they say I talk about my dogs too much :D |
I agree with everyone else... I could not give up any of my pets for any amount of money. They give me way more happiness than any money could ever provide :) |

a few years ago i went snowboarding, and I was offered 2 grand for my snowboard (minus binding & boots) because it was limited edition. it costs 800$ but i got it on sale for 400$ and i said no. If i say no to my snowboard how do you expect us to do something that aweful to our pets, friends & family? |
If I didn't have Teegy when my dad died I would not be here, he is my little fluffy angel and I wouldn't give him up for any kind of money |
Background: we're planning an addition later, I want a Yorkie "he" wants a Miniature Schnauzer...we'll see who wins in the end...in the mean time... Sad to say...I was looking through some site pics of Parti shows awhile ago considering breeders for the addition we want later...the "INsignificant" other says, "I'll give you the $2500 for the new Yorkie and you can get it right now... if we can get rid of Scoobers..." Now I want to think he is joking but he and Scoobers have not had the best relationship (Scoobers is my neurotic pup mill rescue) I paused like is he seriously saying this to me? Then laughed and said, "ye right" he smiled end of it (well he keeps teasing me about the pause saying I was considering it). So I'm telling the story to someone else...she responds, "oh you're getting the new puppy now?!" What is wrong with some people? Now 10 million...I could get a few many new pups with that...hahaha just kidding! To me it's the same as saying I'd sell one of my children... |
Thanks! Hi Everyone! Thanks for responding! I am very happy you all agree with me! I am surprised not many people responded saying something to the effect of: Well, although it would be very very sad to sacrifice your puppy-lationship, think about how many dogs could be saved/rescued and how (possibly) you could help the effort to close puppy mills. Which, is all true, but my Wally has my whole heart (and shares it with my fiance hehe). Thanks for all the responses and I am happy all of you appreciate and cherish your dogs more than ridiculous amount of money!:love::love: |
I think I could stop talking to the friend- take my millions and move to an Island with my babies to just relax and enjoy life. But my babies go nowhere for all the money in the world. |
