![]() So now before I let him out I spray conditioning sprays all over his little rear legs and but, and if he comes back in, with his business stuck to him, I bring him to washroom and it easily comes off and I quickly wipe.

| About every other week I will have my husband hold Zeke up over his shoulder so that I have a good view of his rear. Holding the tail up with one hand, I trim his rear with sissors. Do not trim too close. Other than that, I use wet (with warm water) paper towel or put him right in the bath tub if his butt is really a mess. |

Now my Jack Russell has big time anxiety problems, will eat grass to settle her stomach and have loose BMs occasionally. But I know it is coming, because I see her eating the grass.

Have you considered getting some Himalyan Chews and alternating them with the bully sticks?

| Nice warm bath. And keep it trimmed back their. Reggie ate birdseed the other day, the large birds made a mess in the yard all kinds of uneaten seed on the ground and Reggie ate it all. OMG what a mess I won't even tell you how bad it was.

| Remy eats a Raw diet and we have no issues with poop being stuck to his backside, even if there is an extended time between grooming. I am not a trimmer BTW, he is a squirm machine and the last thing I am going to do is have pointy scissors in my hand aimed at his butt LOL.... He does get wiped down each night before bedtime (he sleeps with me) with baby wipes. Paws, privates (front and rear) all get a wet baby wipe-down before he snuggles up with us. I'd second the suggestions above - look at food / treats if you are having a great deal of sticking issues. Trimming will certainly help, if you can do it. Finally, the wet flushable baby wipes are probably the easiest solution. And, they travel well too. I always have a pack in my car glove compartment for when we are on the road. They can be a lifesaver!! |

I know there are some who do not like one or more of the foods on the list, but I think they are all pretty good if your dog does well on them. Some dogs are sensitive to grain, some to additives, etc... So, one food does not work for all. I have used Canidae with great results. I love how it is an All Life Stage food -- meaning you can feed the same food to pups, adults, adn seniors. I have used Royal Canin with good results too and my dogs really like it. They tend to pick it out if I mix it in with their other food. Both of those foods resulted in the nice little compact, dry poops I was talking about. No messy butts here.

| I also use baby wipes, they are great for cleaning and freshening up little butts. One thing you said caught my eye. Your baby cries when you hold him to clean or trim his butt. These little furbabies are adorable but they are also very smart. Doesn't take them long to learn that if they fuss or cry mommy will let them go! My little one tried this with nail trimming. When I would hold her paw and she would try to pull away, she would cry. At first I thought I was doing something wrong but I soon caught on to her trick. When you are holding them to wipe their butt, you are not hurting them. Good luck with your baby and don't let him call the rules. |
