YT Addict | we need some advice over here . . . ok, Hazel has been learning a lot lately. She knows her name, and responds to it. she comes when i make the "kiss kiss" sound... And recently shes been learning "SIT" and "STAY" . . . she does VERY well with these last two when we are alone, but when she sees other people so goes WILD, and doesn't even look back when i say a command. it was cute at first, but now she needs to learn to listen before she runs and gets herself hurt (she is always on a leash). any suggestions? |

| I'm sorry - I didn't catch how old she is. She looks really young in your avatar. And where are you trying to train her? In your home? Outside? At the park?

YT Addict | thats a fairly new picture, shes 13 weeks. we don't really go into parks. i walk her outside though, and she loose in the house. she just LOVES people, and goes NUTS when she sees them no matter who they are. shes fine listening to me, until she sees another person then she ignores me completely. |

| Hey, my wee boy is 7 months now and he was excellent from about 11-20 weeks at doing all the commands in the house but never listened at all to me outside or if others were around...he is so excellent at it all now and even ignores other dogs and ppeople if we are walking together now on the lead and plays when off it. He had a really short attention span when he was that little so I would not worry about it and let her enjoy the attention she is getting from others. Robbo did not settle down until about 20 weeks then it was like a different dog. Hope that helps.. x |

YT Addict | i do know to expect the super ENERGY SPURTS because she is still very much a baby. i just don't want her getting hurt, and i don't want this becoming a HUGE problem. i was practicing with her today in front of my parents the SIT STAY COME commands and she did VERY well. thank you though, hopefully this IS something she grows out of. i still love her either way! |

| Yea I totally know what you mean I was petrified of him hurting himself especially as he had a thing for running under peoples feet and getting stood on by people in shoes!!!! Although I like to think they are intelligent little dogs and know when they are putting themselves in dangerous situations and as long as you are around when she is diving around then you will be there to help her. Do you crate her when you are not there? |

YT Addict | he sounds JUST like Hazel. she has a thing for FEET! i forgot completely to mention this. but she loves being up under peoples feet! i scares the living crap out of me because i do not want her getting stepped on! and yes i do crate her when i am not home. she actually does really well with it too. |

| LOL when robbo was about 12 weeks he used to chase my toes and try to chew them if he got me and of course when i started hoping about he thought it was a really fun game lol....he aso lvoed chewy fluffy bed socks....he grew out of that about 2 months ago but has started chewing my feet again lol although only when I have ugg boots on so we are working on that but he has learnt no as well so he sometimes listens when i tell him off for it! I do not understand how some people get their yorkies to sit in bags lol as he would be diving around inside it! she sounds so cute! I did go through a stage of thinking o my goodness will he ever be trained? We still have a long way to go together but the difference is like night and day. When i used to take him off his lead, up this hill we go to, at first he would see a little dot in the distance of another dog and be off to play no matter owmuch I called his name, it was a nightmare. |

| It's very hard for a puppy to focus. You have to be very careful that she won't heart herself and she will learn how to focus as she grows up. |

YT Addict | she definitely goes for EVERYONES toes too! its so hilarious that my dad is scared of her when he doesn't have shoes on. ahahha he thinks shes gonna bite him hard which she never does. she just kinda nibbles at toes. he pets her, but won't hold her either. ahahha he says hes a work in progress when it comes to her! lol, i didn't know people could be scared of yorkies. yet alone a puppy! and i was given the OK the start walkin Hazel outside weeks ago by her vet. i don't let her go in any other grass but ours. when i walk her i'm on the pavement on in the street. |

| She has to have her commands down in a quiet undisturbed setting before she will respond with distractions. Shes too young to be outside anyway. They shouldnt be outside untill they have had all their shots. You are taking a big chance to do it before. There was someone on here a few yrs ago and her pup got parvo and the only place it had been was her yard. The pup didnt make it and she learned a hard lesson
