| Lil Bit came in from the yard one day with two dead field mice in her mouth - still dripping blood! - she was so proud of herself. She ran through the house with them, I thought I would have a heart attack (I hate mice!). She finally dropped them at Bruce's feet and wanted him to praise her. UGH!!! But it is instinct. We never taught her to catch mice! I don't know she has hunting abilities but obviously if she sees some she will go after them.

| Hi, Tammy your post is so funny. Your clan are obviously very pampered, far too posh, full tums, and very polite to all guests in the house including the mice. I would have a fit if ever I had a mouse in my bedroom, luckily I have a mad Westie too, and he loves rattin, well thinks he can pit himself against one, as he sounded the alarm very late one evening through the patio door, in the pitch dark, but this cheeky rat just stolled up the garden and out of sight! I'm afraid William wasn't fast enough. Good Luck with that cheeky mouse

| Mice do not like and will avoid dryer sheets. If you can find where they are coming in stick a dryer sheet there and anywhere they seem to frequent. Your post... ROTFL ... got in the chair with me...hahaha too funny!

Oh - she has also caught a squirrel. I walked into the living room one day (a few years ago) and Lil Bit and Annie (a rescue dachsie we had at the time) were playing tug o war with something. My husband asked me what they had. When I looked closer, it was a squirrel. I had my husband take it away from them. Poor thing, its little body was still warm, but it was dead. Bruce thinks Lil Bit caught it, I thought Annie had caught it. Dacshies are "badger hunters".

| Your dogds most likely do not want to waste their time or energy on a small mouse, and are waiting for a large rat to go after. Maxine chases squirrels out of the yard. She has never got a mouse, as I have yet to see one here with all of the hawks flying. If you want to get rid of the mouse, hire a Coyote Whisperer. |

| Lol. Jackson has never killed a mouse. He hunts them down though. There was a sickly mouse in our kitchen once and he was just barking repeatedly. The high pitched annoying over and over again bark. So I go into the kitchen and he's got the thing cornered. Poor mouse, lol. So he finds them and then wants us to do the dirty work. He's more of a bird dog amazingly. Anything that flies, birds, butterflies, flies, etc, he will catch and eat. He's killed 2 birds, and caught multiple butterflies, moths and other flying creatures, lol

| Mabel is a worm wrangler. She tries to get squirrels but hasn't caught one yet! I fear if she does it will tear her up! My nephew has a hamster and everytime we go over there Mabel just stands at attention and stares at it intently. I have no idea what she would do if she got ahold of him!

| You might want to try the Rat Zapper (What's the best way to get rid of rats? Rat Zapper!), sold at many local hardware stores. My company had a mouse that outsmarts every type of traps we laid out. Finally we bought the Rat Zapper. You first put food in it and allow the mouse to feed. After a couple of days you activate it. |

| I love the story too, but now I'm afraid Ally will bring in a squirrel or a opossum. She goes nuts over the squirrels crossing the fence and has come close to getting fresh meat. A couple of nights ago she found the opossum in the yard (don't know how he got in) and went nuts. I captured her and Tia just in time! I don't think I could take them bringing it inside like Lil Bit does. Hey, maybe I could borrow her to capture the opossum!!! It's not very big!!!!! lol |
