| This Grey Hair is Driving Me Crazy!!!! Ahhhh!!! When I adopted my male yorkie, Bear, his head was jet black- now he's one year old and his whole head is covered with thick grey hair! Ugggg....It doesn't look very good on him. When will this grey hair go away? Will it EVER go away? Will it turn to ginger soon? WHEN? Please help answer my very many questions, LOL...

| You have had this same question in two other posts. You were given answers, quesses as to what we think he will do as far as his color goes. We all were just trying to help you. I am so sorry that you will have to wait to know if he will change color and when it will change exactly. I wish we had a crystal ball for you so you would know, but that is life - you just have to be patient and wait to see if he changes or not. He has a thicker coat. As owners of yorkies, when we get our babies - we too have had to wait and see. He is a cute baby and I know you must love him. Just continue to love him as he is, since he cannot change himself. Just like when a mom has her own child - you get what you get and accept them for who they are and love them unconditional. Last edited by topknot; 07-20-2010 at 04:02 PM. |

You just have to wait and see. And if he doesn't change - will this be okay for you? | |

| Of course it will be ok. But I'd love to see him with a ginger head.

| I haven't seen your other posts - but for Bailey- her head turned blonde when she was about two years old. We saw her head turn from gray to blonde very slowly.

| LOL yes they do...I think Bear IS growing out the grey, because I found many strands of ginger on his head! No more than a year before his head is fully ginger!

| In this picture of Apple (avatar), her hair is all colors of silver and black and gold, and she is 9 months old...I thought it was soooo pretty...Now she is 21 months old, and her whole head face & ears are red red red!!! Is that what you want lol...This post made me laugh, because I often look at her and think how I miss her rainbow head of silver and black and gold, and your wanting it red/ginger...lol...Honestly, I wouldn't care if Apple turned purple, I'd still adore her...I think it's kinda cool how they change now and again...Other dogs don't do that |

| I love Lucy's color right now - the hair on her head is blonde and silver and her back is still jet black. But I can see some silver underneath the black hair on her back. Sometimes I get a little sad that her color is changing because it's so pretty now. But I will love her no matter what ~ now if she would just keep that darn bow in her hair . . .

here are pictures of morgan at 1 year, 2 years, and now at 4 years. you can see she still has the grey on her head at 4 years but there is less of it now then there was at 1 and 2 years. its never going to go away on her. edit: in the first pic, that is morgan on the left and her litter mate on the right. i was puppy sitting at the time. as you can see they are very different in color and texture.
