are they yorkie? I have a yorkie that got pregnant with a yorkie, same color same size. They both are under 7 pounds. Here my doubt... their puppies are too big! So i'm doubting tha she run away without me realizing it.:( I think the puppies color is ok, one is a chocolate yorkie the other are black and only one has the brown spots in her face and hear. But they are almost one month old and the heaviest one is almost two pounds:confused:. They were born from 5.5 to 6.5 ounces. |
Ok, first let me ask you if you have pictures of your dog, the "father" and the puppies? Next of all, and not being mean just asking, how does your dog run away without you knowing it? I honestly have no experience with puppies, I got my yorkie when she was already a year old, but there are some very experienced people on here that could probably help you more. Hope this helps. |
Could you post a picture? |
The weight of the parents isn't the truest indicator of how big the pups will be. You would have to know the history of the sizes on both lines. My big boy was 4 lbs at 10 weeks, so it's possible to be all yorkie, just "supersized" fun. That being said, if you had a female that you knew was in heat and you let her out (even briefly) without supervision, then any male walking by could be daddy. |

"LOL- Can't you just picture some little dog with her head between her paws while Maury calls out "You are NOT the father!" Oh my gosh, you guys are too funny! Thanks for the chuckle! :) Ingrid |
Silly question here: are dogs like cats? A cat can get impregnated by several different male cats while in heat? Can a dog as well? |

I would be very suspicious with the off colored puppies.. sounds like she wagged her tail to more than a Yorkie. |
Silly question here: are dogs like cats? A cat can get impregnated by several different male cats while in heat? Can a dog as well? Yes, it is possible.( Sorry about my language skills), but the female is in heat for a prolonged time and if another male comes along he can well father some of the puppies. I think you let them mate more than once anyway, the actual couple, but if another male comes first or in between or after the fact....there you go. |
Wow..... these one month old puppies are just a few ounces less than my 4 month old yorkie puppy. Congratulations on the birth of the puppies. |

My Hobbes doggie mom and dad were 7 lbs, but my sweet Hobbes boy is now 15 lbs, he is 15 months old now. My vet tells me this can happen. He weighed 6.3 lbs at 13 weeks old. But he is 100% yorkie. His brother from the next litter is 8 months old and 8 lbs with the same parents. I think Hobbes just ate more than his share. |
1 Attachment(s) Thanks for all your answers, and sorry for not getting back here sooner. here are the puppies but the pics is not taken recently, I don't have one with me right now. I read that feeding the female puppy food can be a reason for the size of the puppies. She has been eating puppyfood since before getting pregnant (is the only food she likes). They are so cute anyway!!! and so funny!! pure yorkies or not... i adore them!!! :) Don't know why but i can only upload a picture... here the link for the other one http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos...6223_746906223 |
yes i had the yorkies mating 3 times... as far as i know she never was out of sight except once when she run out for a no more then 30 minutes time, which i thought would be not enough to mate again. |

Ok, Im not sure about this..lol..because I am not a breeder, but isnt 30 minutes plenty of time for the deed to be done? lol...I may be wrong, but still.....anything is possible..lol.. |
here the pics 2 Attachment(s) of the babies. Sorry for not getting back here sooner. the puppies are supercute and funny, don't really care at this point if they are pure yorkies or not. I adore them. I have no recent pictures of the babies, and this are from last month. Before having my girl I never had a dog of my own and I have to say that she opened a door in my heart I had no idea it was there... So, today, I am a proud mom and grandma ;) |
The one looks like a chocolate lab, his nose is pink never seen a yorkie with a pink nose but the picture is so small can't really say for sure. He is a cutie!! and 30 minutes is long enough to breed it only take 10 minutes if she is ready. Good luck with your babies. |
would a labrador be able to mate with such a small female? anyway... there are no labrador around my house... And thinking of it... 3 maybe 4 times mating with the selected sir... and 30 minutes on her own... boy she was unlucky!!! hehehehe:eek: |
I just did a little research on chocolate Yorkies and from what I seen they do have pink noses your stud may throw chocolate yorkies or even your girl it could be in there line, I have seen BIG yorkies my friend has a AKC yorkie that weights 12 lbs. And as far as if a lab could mate with a little dog, anything is possible with a bitch in heat. Dogs from all walks of life if intact will travel miles to find a bitch in heat and if your girl potties outside the males will find her. Thats what my vet and the breeders I have talked with tell me. |
Aw such cute babies :) |
I can't really tell anything from the pic of all of them, but as far as the pic of the one alone--sorry to say, but it looks nothing like a Yorkie. Yes, running off for only 30 minutes would have given her PLENTY of time to find another pal. You will need to have these pups and the father DNA'd to determine which, if any of them, he actually sired. As others have already pointed out, it is possible for her to have carried a litter that was multi-sired. Also, the size of the parents alone is not necessarily an indicator of what size their offspring will be. You have to take into consideration the size of all the dogs in their line, not just the size of the dam and sire. But I'm sure, as a breeder who I'm sure thoroughly researched genetics and breeding first, you were already aware of that. ;) |
A lab would mate with her but I think if she got pregnant with a lab then you would have to abort. I had a lasso as a kid that got pregnant by a doberman and the vet told us we had to abort or birthing the babies would kill our dog. The puppies were to big for her to carry and deliver. |
The pup is mixed not azll yorkie |
No clue as to paternity. But they are very, very cute. |
Just wondering how you are going to sell the puppies if you are not even sure of their background  You cannot sell as AKC without knowing the baby daddy. ;) |
Awwww they are so cute :D can't wait to see more pictures of them as they grow and see how they turn out :D yvonne xxx |
that one looks soooooooooooo much like a chocolate lab |
