We almost got an African Grey instead of the Macaw but then somebody scared me off them. Are they pretty nice birds as far as a bird goes?????
Does anybody have a Grey and a Macaw that can tell me some differences in temperment? | I almost bought an African Graey when I bought the Blue Crown Conure. The breeder kind of shied me away from him. I do know they are the best talkers, but they are one of the worst for feather picking, and often times will hunker down in their cages. They are also usually one person birds. I dearly love them, but decided on the BHC. He is really a sweety. Loves to be petted and makes cooing sounds when you do, he will go to anyone, even though he would rather be with me. He has never bitten anyone else either. He will ocasionally nip me if I happen to pet a blood feather. But he doesn't bite to hurt ----just to let you know not to do that, that it hurts.
In my opnion, all birds are nice, but I wanted a better natured bird.
