tongue in or out? This is very random... BUT... I notice that some dogs walk with their tongues out, Lexi's tongue is always in and her mouth and her mouth is closed unless she's biting or eating something. I find it so cute that her mouth stays closed will she eventually sit with her tongue hanging out and her mouth opened? Just curious if this is a yorkie thing or not... |
Hi! No, she won't have her tongue hanging out, unless she's panting or when her front teeth come out.:D She'll be super cute even then.:p |

1 Attachment(s) Well sometimes Teddi's tongue comes out when she is sleeping.....like this is how I found her this morning. I love when the tongue is out!! |
1 Attachment(s) My Derby has his tongue out sometimes, not often! although running is an obvious one (at the park) and this is him begging for a treat. lol |
Emmas tongue is always out and I think it is cute :p And yes Yorkies pant. They are dogs (just don't tell them I said it) first and foremost...sometimes us mommies forget that..:D |
Panting is a way that dogs cool themselves, so if they're a lil flushed they might start panting with their tongues hanging out b/c dogs don't have sweat glands. OR my friend has a Yorkie and her tongue is always sticking out. It's cute, but in her case the Dr. says it's b/c her tongues a lil longer than the avg Yorkie so it'll always be sticking out. |
Shays lil tongue, is always out, just a lil, it is so darn adorable... |
Our dogs tongue is usually out...especially when she is sleeping. She had a few front teeth pulled recently, but she did it even when she was young. Yes, dogs do pant, Yorkies just make a lot less noise doing it. |
Precious picked up the bad habit from my parents boxer. Of having her tongue poking out. It is soooo cute at times other times she just looks silly. Most of the time she does it when she is just sitting around being lazy. |
This is all too cute, Kobe's tongue is ALWAYS hanging out. When he just sits there lokking at you it's hard not to laugh because his tongue is half out of his mouth. When we first brought him home we thought that it didnt fit in his mouth but thats not the case. He just's like it out awake or sleeping. |
Haylee's toung is only out when shes panting, ususally after a very long play sesh. =] i think its cute! |

:p hiya , just take a look at poppys profile picture :) her tongue is always out i love it :p |
Mischief tongue My daughter's yorkie sticks out her tongue when she's about to get into trouble. It lets us know what she is thinking. My new little boy doesn't do that yet but I'm sure he will figure it out. Better than the tongue is the smiling. Oh the smiling it is just too cute. |
Farrah's tongue is usually out a tiny bit, even while sleeping. |

4 Attachment(s) My chihuahua Foxy is a year and a half now and since she was about 6-8 months old her tongue has hung out of her mouth even while it's closed.. LOL it is too cute! Turns out she has a bit of an overbite and the vet thinks it might be that and a combination of that and her tongue being to long for her little short face;) She is a tiny girl, only about 6-8" tall and about 4 pounds (she is a tad overweight, like maybe a pound). She has that apply shaped head I think, with the short muzzle (see pic)... But when she licks, that tongue is so dang long..LOL.. It always sticks out on the right side... she is a cutie and a great little dog. So easy to train to a litter box too. She is a long haired.. I have had several people ask me what breed she was..LMAO.. and then I get a funny look when I say purebred chihuahua |
I’m a New Momma, Baby Girl Marley is 15wks., with most of her teeth in, and her tongue doesn’t stick out. Both her Parents tongues stuck out slightly. I thought it was a Yorkie trait? I have a 12yrs. Old Bailey has always had this tong out slightly. We just lost Bailey’s Momma Fergie in March. Her tongue was out slightly too, all the time. My question is, reading all the post it isn’t trait? Right? |
Yorkies are SO cute. It doesn't matter what they are doing, they're always too cute. |
