Administrator | YorkieTalk was created for Yorkies and Yorkie parents to share, learn, and discuss experiences. We're here to help with your Yorkie and hope you enjoy our community! Hi and welcome to YorkieTalk (YT), where we strive to have a friendly and supportive community. Please feel free to post an introduction and/or ask questions; also, for immediate topical information, you may try doing a search a search (Search via YT Forum) (Search YT via Google), as many topics have been covered in great detail. Please take time to read the YorkieTalk Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for valuable information: YT FAQs YorkieTalk Rules & Guidelines: A. General Information - Posting 1. Upon registering with YT, members agree to these Rules & Guidelines, as well as YorkieTalk Terms of Use Terms of Use. Also, please note that individual sections on the forum have rules specific to that section. 2. Keep signatures to 2 lines or less; 3 lines are allowed for Donating Members. We will not allow large fonts in signatures or any large avatars. 3. Please do not use overly large fonts or hard to read fonts/colors. Your account privileges may be restricted if this courtesy isn't followed. Except for emphasis, please do not use ALL CAPITAL LETTERS when posting, as this can symbolize shouting. Please, do not write your posts using 1 overly-long paragraph - it must be broken into paragraphs for readability. 4. All posts in which members are looking for contest votes/likes for their Yorkie must go in this thread. If posted elsewhere on the forum, your thread/post will be deleted. 5. Threads that may be upsetting to members (such as graphic puppy mill videos) should have a WARNING in the thread title and a warning in the post itself. 6. To prevent abuse in our community, members are allowed one YorkieTalk account per person/family/household unless approved in advance. For database reasons, we do not encourage username changes; however, members are allowed a one-time request for a different user name. After a member's new YT account is created, we will disable the first account; the member's post count and Donating Member status will be lost. 7. We do not allow requests for donations for individual causes. We may allow threads for 'pet walks' or other legitimate charitable causes done by YT Donating Members; please ask for permission before posting. We do not allow public discussions or suggestions about helping a member financially with any situation; if a member chooses to assist another member in this manner, it should be done via Private Message (PM). 8. We do NOT DELETE threads or posts unless they break YT rules or are deemed problematic. YT is not responsible for anything resulting from your posts and is not responsible for the interpretation of your posts by other members. REMEMBER: THE INTERNET HAS NO DELETE BUTTON. 9. Advertising other forums or other Yorkie forums is not allowed in posts or PMs. If caught stealing YT content, member will be banned immediately and additional action may be taken, as appropriate. Pornographic images are not allowed. 10. YT believes members have the right to voice their opinions about breeders; we also believe breeders have the right to respond to reviews and complaints. As stated in the Terms of Service and in the YorkieTalk Rules and Guidelines, all opinions posted by members are the explicit responsibility of the individual member. Opinions expressed in Reviews are not the opinions of YT, nor can YT assume any responsibility for members' opinions. Reviews will not be deleted; therefore, members should keep this in mind when assuming full responsibility for their posts. 11. If you request to cancel your YT account or post you wish to leave YT, we will disable your account immediately; any public posts declaring your wish to leave will be deleted and may result in an immediate ban status rather than a request-to-leave status. To cancel your account, send the request via PM from your YT account or via email from your registered email address on file. If we disable your account, you may apply for reinstatement after 1 month, during which time your account will be inactive. Reinstatement is at the discretion of YT and is allowed ONCE ONLY. If you are reinstated, you will not regain previous Donating Member status. If a member requests to close their account a second time, reactivation is not an option. 12. Members under the age of 18 are required to contact us upon joining YT so we may change their user title to the special status of "YT Young Pup", in purple. B. Selling / Commercial Information 1. For information on how to post Yorkie Products For Sale, please click here - For Sale Post Rules thread. Yorkie Products For Sale posts must be for Yorkie products only. 2. Dog Food Sellers - you must read THIS RULE and follow it. We will delete posts which do not follow this rule. Members will get one warning if they post sales posts in the non-selling forums, any further posts may lead to a suspension or ban from YT. 3. We do not allow links to commercial sites (a site that is selling any products or services) in signatures unless you are a Donating Member who has donated $25 or more. To advertise your store or site via a link in your signature, there is a $25 yearly fee (one free signature-link year is included with your first year’s $25 Donating Member donation). Non-Donating members cannot have commercial links in their signatures. However, links to Dogster, home pages, information sites, or Yorkie videos is still acceptable. Your signature may be edited at any time by the YorkieTalk staff to comply with the above. 4. For liability reasons and your own safety, we cannot allow sales of counterfeit or replica goods. 5. We do not allow ANY threads seeking studs or offering stud services. We do not allow bartering or trading for services or Yorkies. Last edited by JMuedog; 09-15-2014 at 05:53 PM. |

Administrator | C. Personal Interaction & Consequences 1. Please be civil and do not personally attack members, their opinions, their knowledge, or how they care for their dog. It is NOT acceptable to call any member a troll, a pot stirrer, or a bully. If you disagree with a member's post - you must reply respectfully; if unable to do so, you should not post. If you have only criticism and nothing constructive to add to a thread - then DO NOT POST. If you have ongoing conflict with a member, you may place them on your ignore list, however, it is not allowed to publicly declare whether a member is placed on 'ignore' - any posts stating such will be deleted and could result in consequences. 2. New members must be treated with respect, patience, and extra understanding. All yorkie owners at YT were “new” at some point; new members come to YT hoping to learn about their dogs and they want some support, patience and kindness while learning and sharing. If you are a member who cannot offer patience and understanding to new members or during sensitive topics, then you should not post on applicable threads. If you break this rule - your posts will be deleted, your access to the applicable section(s) may be removed for up to 30 days or indefinitely, and/or you will be suspended. 3. If your personal interactions are deemed problematic, attacking, badgering, snarky/snide or anything similar, (via forums, PMs, chat etc.), your account may be suspended for 1-4 weeks. If you try to circumvent this by creating another account, both accounts will be PERMANENTLY BANNED. For more serious offenses, you may be banned from YT immediately, rather than suspended. If a member causes ongoing problematic issues in a certain section of YT, we may disable the member's access to that section for 1-4 weeks; if it continues, access will be removed indefinitely. 4. For any subsequent offenses, you will be suspended for a longer duration of time as appropriate to the offense. If offenses continue, you will be PERMANENTLY BANNED from YT. We do not allow discussions of suspensions or bans of any specific member, or discussions regarding former members of YT. Please note, the duration and type of all consequences are at the discretion of the Admin and Moderators and are dependent upon each member’s individual situation and history. 5. If someone attacks you via a PM, report it to us - DO NOT RETALIATE, or you may risk suspension. Do not delete the PM and do not respond. Immediately report the message; we will verify the message was indeed sent by that person and appropriate action will be taken. 6. Private messages are not for creating arguments, attacking, badgering, or for trying to influence people against another member. Nor are they to be used for spamming of any kind, or for advertising other forums or commercial items. If you receive a PM that is spam, a solicitation of any kind, or a message offering something for sale - PLEASE, report it to Admin immediately. Inappropriate use of PMs will result in a suspension or ban. D. Discussing / Posting - Animal Welfare and Legislation 1. Though YorkieTalk does not allow overtly political threads, we make an exception for legislation that involves animals, as it pertains to the community. Political threads may be removed at the discretion of YorkieTalk administrators and moderators. Going forward, if you would like to open a discussion about a bill, please either post the content of the actual bill into the first post or paste the link, via the bill's state, into the post. Please do not post an interpretation of the bill from an organization that already has a formed opinion regarding the bill; this does not foster discussion of the actual merits of the bill. Rather, it leads to discussion about who/what is behind the bill, which isn't productive. Posts that largely focus on criticizing who might be behind the bill, rather than the merits of the bill, will be deleted. We hope this helps generate positive discussions regarding the potential pros and cons of animal welfare legislation. Thank you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If you see anyone breaking these rules please report the post, or email admin@yorkietalk.com, or privately message us and it will be dealt with accordingly. The moderators here at YorkieTalk do it FOR YOU, as a volunteer position. These moderators have lives outside of YorkieTalk and are committing countless hours to make this a better place for you. Do not take them for granted. They help out of love for the Yorkie breed. Please contact them as necessary, but please be mindful of their time constraints and responsibilities here at YT. If it is important, PM them; if not, DON'T. If you disagree with YT's culture or rules, please consider whether this community is the right fit. While YorkieTalk is an open, public forum where anyone can join - membership is a privilege, not a right. We hope anyone interested in our forum will stick around and see the breadth of what YorkieTalk offers as a community. And please, if you're having struggles in getting the lay of the land - reach out to someone, there are always people willing to help! Thank you for your support - in the past few years, we've grown into the world's largest Yorkie community, with almost 100,000 knowledgeable and helpful members. Remember, we're all here because of our Yorkies - to share stories, pictures, and ask questions when we need support. Let's all keep it fun! Enjoy YorkieTalk!
