| Is it to soon Today, I was invited to go on a last minute family vacation to Tahoe, although I would really like to go I have a MAJOR concern. I just got my Mr. Bailey a week ago, and and he just had his 1st series of shots on the 22nd of Dec (less than 2 weeks ago) and I was wondering if I were to stay in a pet friendly hotel and take serious precautions (i.e. keeping only in rooms, placing extra sheets down on floor in kennel and and letting sleep in bed.) would it be OK to take Bailey to Tahoe. If he cant go, niether can I, which is OK too |

| It might be too much excitement for him. So I've heard young yorkies sometimes don't eat when stressed, just having shots and being in a new environment are a lot of stresses. |

| I once had a baby yorkie, her name was Bella, and when I first got her, she wouldn't eat and became really sick. She was 9 weeks. I took her back to the breeder and turned out she was home sick. I got her back, again, about a week later and within two days of having her back, I took her to the desert becasue I didn't want to leave her alone!!! She already had her shots from the first time I had her. She did awesome! I stayed in an RV b/c my friend invited me to go with her and her family for quad riding and dirt biking. I took her on a bumpy ride, hold her tightly of course, on a goat cart (sp?). It was REALLY bumpy but she fell asleep in my arms! She ate and drank water and did really great! So take your baby with you!!!

We will see what other people will say but if i was placing a puppy with someone i would keep it until their vacation is over. Good luck in your decision! XOXO

| Thanks to all that replied. We took Mr. Bailey to Tahoe and he did great. He ate regularly and played around (a lot) and had regular bowel movements. He was so excited when we got home, he ran around for at least 2 hours , which is a little unusual seeing that he normally plays for 30 min to an hour then sleeps for 2 hours then plays again for another 30 min to an hour. We'll see what happens but I think he'll be fine, as for me, I was a nervous wreck and will wait to all of his shots are completed before we take another trip. |
