| Would you buy a Puppy on the Internet? Just another reason why you should go visit the home of the Breeder. I wouldn't buy a furbaby on the net. I would want to go see, play & hold my baby. Anyone can post a picture on the net. I'm sure it works for some people. But how do you really know they sent the puppy you picked? I have seen lots of pictures of furbabies, alot of them look the same. This one if she even had any puppies, must be a back yard breeder. Sad! Sentencing Today For Puppy Scam Artist 10-03-2005 5:24 AM (Chula Vista, CA) -- Elizabeth Rivera Davis is scheduled for sentencing today in San Diego County's South Bay Courthouse in Chula Vista. Davis admitted she collected money for puppies that she never delivered. Davis changed her plea to guilty after initially pleading not guilty to grand theft charges. Prosecutors say she stole thousands of dollars from at least 17 victims who thought they were buying puppies through the Internet. Pictures of what were described as purebred puppies were posted on Davis' website and buyers were directed to send 800-dollars to a pickup office in Chula Vista. None of the purported puppies was delivered to customers in the U.S. and Canada. When the disappointed would-be puppy owners didn't get their pets, they weren't able to contact Davis for a refund. Chula Vista police tracked Davis to a residence in Imperial Beach and arrested her in July on multiple charges of grand theft. She is scheduled for sentencing at 2:00 this afternoon in Chula Vista.< Copyright 2005 Metro Networks Communications Inc., A Westwood One Company

| Yes, this is a sad sad story for everyone and there were a couple of people who bwcame members here after being scammed on here. I am a huge proponent of the use of the Puppy Escrow which protects everyone in a long distance purchase. |

| I would never buy a puppy over the net. I want to see what I am getting upfront. I found Gus in a add via the net but I talked to the breeder. And we sent a bunch e-mail back and forth. They were very kind and answered any questions I had before even going to take a look. They opened up thier home to us and I felt very comfortable purchasing from them. I would also never have a puppy shipped! For those of you who have, and things worked out just fine,,,, I am so happy for you. I am not all that trusting of a person and not willing to put a puppy though that. Going to a new home can be very stressfull on a puppy, I wouldn't want to add more stress then the poor thing has to go though.

| I found Tigger on the net, and my boyfriend purchased him. Our breeder was really nice and liked in OK. She drove out 45 mins and delivered him to my boyfriend himself. She gave us papers on what he needed and such, and was really nice. The only problem I had was I am a very skeptical person and thought that (considering I work in a well known pet retail store, everyones heard of it.) it may be a puppy mill because I too wanted to meet the parents or sibling s at least. But then I thought "well, even if the dog is from a puppy mill at least he's getting a better home." but He's doing great, this weekend he weighed in at three pounds. My baby is getting big. But after reading a lot of posts, I doubt I'll buy from the internet again. Thanks for making everyone aware of the sick people out there that does this stuff. Please continue to make us aware. |

| I'm glad Elizabeth Davis is going to get what's coming to her. Let's hope those who have lost money will get it back.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I personally wouldn't. I know some people are very lucky and have bought off the net...but as a personal choice - I would not. Elizabeth Davis is one of many scammers out there - she happened to get caught - many don't ....they WILL get theirs one day. |

| Honestly, no I wouldn't. I'd have to see it in person and hold it. I'd have to see it's environment and meet the breeder. I'd have to look at the mom and dad. You can see certain things on the internet, but it just isn't the same as in person.

| I bought my mother-in-law a female Chocolate Lab from www.puppyfind.com But I did have a friend who lived close to the breeder check her and her pups out. So it wasn't totally over the internet. Granted, I personally never met the breeder but at least my good friend was able to do some investigating work for me.

| I personally wouldn't, anyone can make anything look all rosey on the internet... when in real life it isn't even close to that. I personally need to see where the pup is living, the conditions, parents ect- I know of only one person who bought over the internet and it wasn't a good experiece, they sent her a different pup than she bought, this one had a severe underbite, a different color than the pics she was sent ect... many other things. But I have read on here good experiences... I guess if you were to buy over the net, I would ask people who have, who they bought from ect first. |

| Elizabeth Davis is a prize. I bought Chewy off the net after lots of research and long talks with his breeder. I was lucky. I got a fabulous pup for a pretty decent price. Next time, I would probably not go this route unless I was to buy from this breeder again. |

| I found my puppy on the net but this is after someone else I know bought over the net from that same breeder and her dog was fine so I thought it was fine for me to do. I've been very happy about my decision. Although I am disappointed in her hair growth but I don't know if I went and saw her in person I would have known that her hair wouldn't grow. |
