Is Our Little Girl 'Normal'? Our little girl is now 9 months old (d.o.b. - 2/8/09) and has been acting like she's coming into her first 'heat', but hasn't shown any blood, yet. The problem is that she's started to 'hump' our feet within the last week, and she seems to be obsessed with it. Is this 'humping' associated with coming into heat? Is this a normal behavior for Yorkies? Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. |
It is normal behavior. It may not be associated with coming into heat, I have a 8 yr old spayed poodle that humps her toys. It might be though, she may be in heat and just not be bleeding much. Watch her close so you don't have an accidental mating. |
I was told that the "humping" has nothing to do with sex. It's a form of showing or gaining dominance (at least when females do it). Annie does it every once in a while when she decides that she should be running the show. A Cesar "bite" on the shoulder usually takes care of it for a few months. |
