| My girl is FIFTEEN months and may be having her 1st season?! OK I had 4 MALE dogs before I had my darling Gypsy Rose .. she was, in my opinion late enough having her 1st season at 11 months but our baby Gizzie Chavi has really got me guessing......I bathed her and on brushing etc she appeaared swollen "down there"! She is now FIFTEEN months!!! BUT she has had me guessing before and nothing ever happened. THIS time I took her to the vet (had to go for Gyps and Gizz's booster shots) and vet also said that yes it looks like a season but this is several days ago and no other sign yet! I have heard of "silent seasons" and please can someone tell me how I can possibly tell if she has a season if I see no blood? I know that Gypsy Rose lost blood and it was so noticeable and her teats enlarged and REMAINED large after (Gizzie's are tiny and nearly unoticeable) and I have been told that this is a sure sign of a baby girl NOT having had a season? Please has anyone any advice.... our vet over here will not spay her until 2 months after her season and we will then be in Spain so my girl will have to have TWO seasons before spaying ... Ana xx

| Sounds like your little girl is now a little lady. Princess has had four heats, tow of them were very light. I guess she's growing up Mom! Good Luck!

| Thanks!! I'm not so sure that I will know for sure? With Gypsy Rose there was no doubt at all. Can anyone tell me who I'll know for sure please? I believe the teats stay larger after a season, please can anyone confirm this? I need to know she has gone through a season please..?!!! No sign of it yet apart from the swelling?!! Thank you, Ana xx

| The vet can do a swab test and tell you if she is in heat. It only takes a few minutes. |
