What product do you use to keep hair out of your yorkies eyes?? Hi all.. My Tulips fur is seriously out of control... and it seems like it's always in her eyes...so I'm just curious if anyone out there has found a product or a way of keeping the hair on their yorkies face under control? |
Sorry I can't help you with that. I can't keep a bow in Abby's hair as it is thin and she shakes her head until it finally comes out. That's the problem I have. I do hope someone here can help you. |
I need something too. Thor's whiskers are in that awkward phase, but if I put anything on them to let him see, he rubs his head against the rug until they stick back up again. |
LOL I don't have much problem keeping tulips hair on her head out of her face...I put it up in top knots....but her hair around her eyes...is continually getting in her eyes and causing them to tear up...So I was hoping to find out if someone uses like sculpting gel or (human hair products)or something like that to help hold it in place... |
I have tried gel and a hair spray for dogs...(put on my finger then dabbed on the hair) NOTHING has worked...as much as I didn't want to, I had to trim the hair that sticks up in their eyes. Sadie doesn't have a nice coat, it is almost kinda coarse feeling. So...her hair doesn't lay flat around her face. I had to cut her's quite a bit. It really doesn't look bad at all...Lillie has a silkier coat that lays nice....I trimmed around her nose, where the hair sticks into her eyes, and you can't even tell. |
I also trim right around the eye. Their hair automatically goes right twords the eye! I have also used product to keep it down better. I think the trim works better. |
I use Pet Silk Top Knot Gel, it works pretty well.Especially after a bath when the hair is very soft.I just put a little on the topknot hair and then gather it up and attach it with an elastic. |
i also use pet silk top knot gel. i think it works very well and brushes out. it is not expensive and lasts forever.:aimeeyork |

I use the Petsilk topnot gel and it does work as best as anything else I've found. You can trim the hair but it's a continual battle then, whereas if you let it grow out, the hair will eventually lay down and not be such a problem. |
where do you get the Petsilk topnot gel , does pet smart have it |
I got mine from Petedge. I use it too and love it. |

I just go with a puppy cut and use a little trimmer to shave right between her eyes. |
Petsilk topknot gel |
I use the top knot gel as well. :) It hasn't been perfect in correcting the problem but its MUCH better than anything else I have tried. You should get it a try. I got mine from petedge.com It only makes sense to order from there if you have a large order ($60+) b/c they will add additional fees if you order less stuff. If you aren't looking for a bunch of (random) stuff now, you can try another website. On petedge it was like 6.99. If you type "petsilk top knot gel" into google, it will list a few other websites that carry it but you will be paying around 13.99 for it then. Good luck! |

Thanks!! I'll definately give that topknot gel a try!!! |
My Spencer too. gets hair in his eyes, but he has the "puppy cut'' as well, so that helps. My Questions is between grooming, how do I get the eye "gook". as I call it, from his eyes tearing so much...It gets in clumps and it's hard to brush out since it's so near the eye...any suggestions. P.S. I've tried a warm wash cloth and it doesn't even seem to lossen the gunk! |

I wash my girls eyes out every day...if you wait until its an icky "clump of gunk"...then it's alot harder to clean out. Just take a washcloth to his eyes at least every other day...but daily is even better!! |
I use vaseline :) works just like a puppy hair gel. |
Love the Petsilk topknot gel, I can't wait till his hair all reaches the topknot, but I would have never had tried to grow it out without this product. You can find it on ebay for around $10.00 including shipping. |
Here's a place that says $7.99, and that "Includes Shipping & Handling Fees", I can't believe thats right, but you might want to check it out. Top Knot Gel - 4 oz jar |

Use silicone rubber bands to not tangle in hair I have three yorkies my Seri, 4 yrs old, two male puppies almost 1 yr. I have NEVER cut any face hair on my yorkies. I do rubber bands made of silicone. They're more expensive but they don't cut the hair or get stuck and pull hair out. I get them in the hair accessory dept of Walmart, etc. The boys I do a pony tail and then put it with more hair to lay down nice. Looks more masculine than a stand up ponytail. |
Go-Fetch also has Petsilk topknot gel. Watch out though - you'll probably find a bunch of other things you can't live without! |
