| Color change? hi, milu is one year old and she has mostly black fur on her back, but she is starting to get some silver on her chest, belly, and back legs. does this mean her coat color is going to change? at what age did your yorkie change colors? thanks!

| My Azrael had total black hair on her back and then at almost 3 years old, it turned silver. I think Yorkies must have some chameleon in them.

i used to think that all yorkies are supposed to turn silver, but i think there are some that have their coats stay black forever, right? i really do like the black coat! so i am hoping milu can keep hers forever!?

| Both my boys were totally blonde on their little heads by 7 or 8 months. Ranger's body hair broke to silver at about that time, too. I think with Milu being almost a year (holy cow has it been that long?!?!?!) that she should stay darker. Someday I am going to have one that stays dark, these blondies are too much for me sometimes!!

YT 500 Club Member | Meg had platinum blonde (almost white) roots on her head when I got her, and several people asked, "Is she bald?" Thankfully, the platinum has turned to a beautiful blonde. Now she has black tips from her puppy fur - just like Christina Aguilera! She's 5.5 months old now, and she's starting to get gray/silver roots throughout her back. My little baby's growing up!
