Do you still buy as much stuff for your Yorkie since economy is down? Since the economy is low right now, I am sure a lot of people are hit pretty hard. If so, do you still buy as much stuff for your Yorkie? (could be anything i.e. bed, clothes, shoes, treats, chewies, toys) Edited to add: Seems like a no-brainer question but I know we'd get interesting reponse. |
Yes, I am always buying something for my baby. I don't buy to many clothes but I am always buying him bullysticks or a toy!! :D |
Since I got Thor pretty recently, I'm still working on finding his favorite stuff. For instance, he loves Flossies, but he doesn't eat the ends for some reason. This means he's only eating about half the Flossie. So I figure I'll get him the fat ones, since that's just more to love, right? Wrong. I just bought him a couple toys that he's not familiar with. One is a lion with all the limbs velcroed on, perfect for practicing his tear-the-prey-in-half instinct, and a cow that moos. |
Yep Same here. I'm always picking up something. Her latest prize was a stuffed frog. I'll be looking for some spring clothes soon! |
Yes but the type of things I am buying are different, not as much Juicy, Coach, and ed hardy type stuff. More handmade, local vendors local stores, I like the handmade things better anyway. I guess I am just going less commercial. but I think that I spend about the same. |
oh and I am addicted to harnesses now:) they work double duty they are fashionable and practical.:) |
Although we are in a recession, micro economics is a very personal issue. If you are fortunate enough to have a secure job, there is NO reason to cut back (even if you have lost a lot of your savings due to the market's nose dive - unless you're living on a fixed income or approaching retirement), and in fact if you do, you are just adding to the pain of the overall economic conditions. On the other hand, if you are out of work or fear being laid off, then I would suspect that any non-vital purchase is getting scrutinized a lot these days. I just hope that no one who really loves their Yorkie would have to give it up for adoption because they can no longer afford to take care of it. I suspect this would be more of an issue if you need to spend a lot for vet care of some kind. But I know I would buy a lot less toys, or make my own if I felt economically insecure. My guys do seem to love homemade toys made from stretchy fabric like fleece as much as the ones I buy. |
As of Thursday night my husband put me on a strict budget. Neither one of us are unemployed, but he is going to get a kidney transplant soon and he wants me to be ready to cut back. So it really has nothing to do with the economy just trying to be prepared. |
Yes, I have cut back on myself, but not on him. |
Tucker isn't much of a clothes dog haha. He has some favorite toys, and on special occassions will get a new toy. and he always has treats for when he goes outside. Really, compared to some of the yorksters on here, he's never been very spoiled. (not to say he doesn't have/get a lot of stuff! cause he definitely does! haha) but he has what he needs and if there is something extra cute that we happen to come across, he'll probably get that too. :) |
1 Attachment(s) I should STOP but no I haven't.. we've had Gucci for 3 months and in those 3 months he has accumulated over 50 toys, over 30 outfits, 2 beds, a tent, Blankets, Pillows, Snuggle Sacks, Treats and various other items. I think because having a Small dog is so new to me.. I can't help but spoil the lil stinker!!! It's bad when my husband doesn't even say anything to me for buying him things :( he goes with me to the store and he is looking for Gucci as well . See here are some of his toys lol... I had taken a picture to send my lil girl a pics message on the phone and tell her it was getting out of hand lol.... |
