Separation Anxiety Boy do I identify with you. I'm leaving Labor Day for Scotland. I'll be gone for 10 days. Even though my husband will be here with Samson, I am already having separation anxiety. Since my husand will be gone all day, and Samson will be left alone, he will be wired when my husband comes home at night and will want to play. And I know that he won't get all the attention that he normally gets with me here all day. Wish I could take him, but that's not possible. I just look forward to the great greeting I'll get when I get home. Sue and Samson |
I know exactly what you mean - we had to leave Rowdy for 2 weeks in June - the trip was booked and paid for before we ever even thought of getting Rowdy. I felt just terrible and was so sure he wouldn't even remember us - he was just over 3 months old. Turns out he was ECSTATIC to see us. I also had pages of instructions and one of mine included "don't rock the rocking chair if Rowdy is on the floor". He stayed with my daughter, and her family including 3 other dogs (boston terrier, black lab, & cocker) and one cat. Turned out Rowdy had a ball and became great friends with the cat. The other dogs wouldn't have anything to do with him - they just ignored him, but he and the cat struck up a great friendship and now when Rowdy visits, he and the cat have a great time playing chase and wrestling. I think you are perfectly right to be concerned, but it sounds like you have made every possible arrangement and I bet everything will be just fine. |
leaving Oh I can so relate!! We are going to Hawaii in Oct and I was so worried about where to leave Daisy. If my son kept her she would be alone for about 12 hours a days while he works. I am so fortunate that the gal that is the President of the Yorkshire Terrier Club of Northern Calif is going to keep her. She has 6 Yorkies of her own and I know I will not have to worry one second about her. Anything at all that might come up Carol can handle and probably has already!! I hope you go and enjoy yourself and don't worry about your 'baby" Jenni |

Too bad! If we lived close I could have drop by just to see if the sitter needed anything, but she'll be fine when people have never had a pet they are very gentle because they are afraid of hurting them. So if Stomper :aimeeyork plays his cards right he can have her doing tricks on the 2nd day. |
