My little guy is pretty well-behaved ever since he was a pup but like you, I was pretty worried about him getting into things. I remember I sprayed all cords and whatever he is not supposed to have including shoes with Bitter Apple Spray lol and bought a garbage can with heavy lid. He is pretty good though..he doesn't even chew toilet paper that drops on to the ground.

that this is mean, but I use Tabasco sauce on things I don't want my wee-ones getting into. It washes off material things, and it doesn't hurt them. It doesn't take too long for them to start smelling things before they grab onto them. Sure, they hate it, but it's better to get a mouthful of something hot than get electrocuted from the wires in the house, or chewing holes in the carpet. I use cayanne pepper on my lawn outside to keep the gophers off of it too.
