| One of my babies is registered, the other is not. The female I have had a standard mommy yorkie but the dad was a Biewer. I was told, because of this that I could not register. I am fine with that as my pups are pets not show dogs. But I was just curious how I could find out of this is true. Could it be that the biewer dad has to be registered with AKC first? Anyway, this topic always gets hot but IMO I like the breed as the standard is set. All mine now and future will be docked. |

Either way, Biewers cannot be registered with AKC at this point.

| YT 2000 Club Member | I do believe some "desinger" or "mixed" bred dogs can be registered through CKC, if the parents are registered, but I could be wrong.

| Just some pictures of a show yorkie with a full tail (2-5 yrs of age). I don't think it's ugly, just the opposite Last edited by Kicki; 01-03-2009 at 11:34 AM. |

| I thought this too but didn't say it! Years ago, I worked on the OB floor of the local hospital and witnessed a number of circumcisions and I am in the room when my puppies have their tails cropped. Believe me, the babies and puppies feel what is going on! My OB and I had several very heated discussions about my wanting to use a local anesthetic on my baby's penis if I decided to circumcise him ... luckily I had 2 girls! Yorkie's tails are cropped because that's the standard, they can still be registered if you decide to not crop, they just cannot be shown in AKC conformation classes. Personally, I feel that cropping is unnecessary but I crop my pups tails because it is the standard.

Thank you from a 'million puppy yelps in pain' for showing just how beautiful yorkies can be with tails!! I love them all and will never dock another tail (or ears) on any dog! Just my opinion - don't mean to offend anyone! Last edited by grannystreet; 01-03-2009 at 01:23 PM. Reason: needed to add more

| Biewers are pure bred yorkies with a gene difference. They are not mixes by any means. There is testing done to prove this because unscrupulous breeders do mix breed to attain that look. There sometimes called Party colored. But real Biewers have the piebald gene (dont ask me to explain it all but there are lots of resources if you google Biewer.) but were created from standard yorkies and there are no other dogs in the mix. Personally, I love my baby but it is crazy to me how they would concentrate on a gene difficiency or change but that is what a biewer is. My Biewer/standard has no white. I prefer the standard yorkies but since the same mommy as my first was the mommy I had to have this puppy! |

| Before arriving to my home , Frimousse had a tail . One day , her owner got mad at her and started swinging her by the tail and broke it . The vet had to cut the complete tail . |
