Cheyenne had her First Birthday! (An Iowa Girl!)
 

Cheyenne is one of the "Adorable Little Girls Available in Iowa " that were posted last February by Martha Frances. She just turned one on October 31st. She is an absolute sweetheart. She is just 4 pounds and very loving. We had a real problem with dominance over Cody, our 3 year old male, for the first 6 months or so. That has now passed and there is peace in our home. She no longer feels she is in charge! :D The two yorkies are together constantly! The funniest thing she does is that she howls -- just like a huskie. She has rarely barked. That's a real treat for us compared with our constantly barking Cody! :eek: She started howling almost the first day she was here when she climbed our stairs. She was so proud of her accomplishment! Now she howls a greeting EVERY time we come home and she also howls on command. (The command, of course, is a howl! She answers back. Fun! My daughter started this one.) It's adorable to see her tiny little head tilt back and her little mouth form that "o" when she is howling. I should mention that Cody's amazing greeting is an ear-to-ear smile every time we come home--with teeth!! He has tried to howl to be like Cheyenne, but it doesn't come out very well. What a special dog this yorkie breed is--and so super smart!
We had a little party for her for her first birthday -- cake & doggie ice cream. Just once a year so it was a treat. (And, please, they don't usually eat at our table! Just a crazy party thing we did.)
I'd love to see photos and hear about her sisters!

Dawn, thanks for sharing the pics of Cheyenne and Cody! She looks like she is so happy, I can't tell you how good that makes me feel to see that. I have no clue where the howling comes from as neither mom or dad are howlers although I'm not surprised about the bossiness:D
I would also love to hear how her sisters are doing. The one I do hear from is not online, but she sent pics thru the mail, she is tiny also at just 3 and 1/2 lbs. Maybe Betsy and Ashley will see this and share pics of the other two. :p

I'm soooo glad you saw my post! I also wanted to tell you that Cheyenne still has the little star of white fur on her chest, the little white beard, and the white toenail, too. It's all there still -- makes her special! :)

I'm so glad I stumbled across this!!! Happy late birthday Cheyenne! She is adorable! Too funny about the howling. I have Cheyenne's sister Wenny :) She is the boss of our house (well, she tries to be)!
