I think what got my hubby to start is that I had him stop looking at their "exterior" of what they are and how they look but had him look at their eyes, how they interact with us, their body language, and starting speaking for them "so to speak". Know what I mean? |

I love him all the more for it and it shows how much he loves ME by making my boys as important to him as they are to me! :) IM a lucky girl! :) |

What's TAH? I can't imagine anyone not feeling love for these animals, especially when you come home from work all day and coming home with them greeting you and they are so happy to see you. If they do that to your hubby you can say things like, look how happy they are to see you, don't you just see all the love they have for you? They miss you so much! Then you can also give him that big puppy dog eyes. |
My husband is something like that also! I think, like someone already said, they are jealous! He thinks we are all nuts, going on about our furbutts the way we do! He is doing better, lets him lick his ears when he first comes home, and sometime letting him sleep with us! Before he would not even think of letting Nolee sleep in our bed. Slowly but surely, we are getting there with him!:animal-pa |

I'm sorry that your hubby doesn't take an interest in the things that you enjoy. I assume it's not just your furbabies, is it? Of course Yorkies (or any dog for that matter) aren't things...didn't mean to imply that. My husband loves Abby and Daisy as much as I do. He enjoys seeing me enjoy them. When I buy them new clothes, he just chuckles to himself because he knows how much I love dressing them up. We took them to the riverfront the other night and I had them all dressed up in dresses and bows. Some guy asked him if Daisy was a girl...Umm, she had on a dress with a can-can under it and big bow in her hair... Hubby said, Nope, Cross Dresser ..... He walked Daisy all over and after we had dinner at an outside cafe w/ the girls (Abby and Daisy) he picked Daisy up in his lap and held her. Both he and my son love our babies. We also have an 85 lb Golden Retriever that we all love to pieces. I so wish I had some sage advice to give you. If my hubby talked like that to me, it would really hurt my feelings. It sounds like to me the problems go deeper than your dogs. Maybe he'll come around eventually. I hope for your sake that he does. I wish you the best of luck. PS Enjoy the heck out of your babies and dress them up every chance you get! There's no reason for you not to enjoy them to the fullest!! |

Anyway I finally had a talk w/him tonight, and made him talk to me even though he really didn't want to get into it... it turns out he IS jealous of the dogs!! He said that I spend so much time w/them that I don't always get to give him my undivided attention... it never occurred to me... for one i am ADHD and my attention is squat anyway lol and two we have a 3 yr old and a 9 yr old you would think that he would be over that by now lol!! But we have always made time for each other... i told him that i would make sure we get more mommy and daddy time, but that i was going to get a girl yorkie (after teddy is fixed and fully potty trained), that i was going to dress her up in pink frilly dresses and he was to keep his sarcasm to his self!! :D:D i think we have a breakthrough!!!!!!!!! |

We are really into hunting & outside stuff so when I went to buy cloths I bought 2 of the same camo tshirts. He would put them on both of them and of course when we took them off the babies would be mad, they liked them. He couldn't say anything about the shirts beause he loves camo. Now I buy whatever I want. :D |
