:aimeeyork Age is not an issue to me, you can be a certain age and be very mature and know a lot more than a much older person does, it's called studying and experiencing it(in this case Yorkies). But to your question yes i would buy from a 17 yr old there are numerous references to age in this thread.. i am just responding with my opinions im not the ONLY rude old lady:) posting:) |

Actually you are.. I find alot of your posts rude and immature for someone currently suffering from menopause... I give your attitude and mood swings a :thumbdown:thumbdown:thumbdown |
no Well, you asked for our opinions, and I do not mean to offend you, but No, I would not buy a puppy from you. You do not have enough experience, and you need to do a lot more research before you start to bring innocnet lives into the world. Removing dew claws and docking tails it the least of your worries! Do you know what CERf testing is? OFA? BAT? If the answer to any of these questions is no, then you are not going to make a good breeder. See my website listed in my signature below. Quote:

I think you guys are straying from the original question! WOULD YOU BUY FROM A 17 YEAR OLD BASED ON HIS OR HER AGE? Where are all these experience questions coming from I never said I had enough experience, never said when I was going to start breeding so why bring it up? I understand you guys care of the breed but you guys are answering the question would you buy from a 17 year old based on experience? and thats not what I asked im asking would you buy or not buy from a person that is 17 because of their age? Oh and yes I do know what OFA and BAT are as I posted in an earlier post! |
I have a question... do you some of you guys even read the replies that are given from the OP when you post your replies? Have you thought for one second that maybe... in the 9 pages of previous threads that someone else might have already asked that question and the OP might have already responded? I don't mean to be abrasive but I feel like some of these posts are so rude and condescending and it's completely unncessary and to be honest.. tacky. As far as the original question goes - I WOULD buy from a 17 year old. At 17 I was already a sophomore in college and living on my own so I know first hand how mature and responsible a 17 year old can be. Would I buy from you? Probably not. I've seen firsthand the results of bad breeding (not saying you are/will be) but I want to absolutely make sure that the next dog I buy comes from someone with years and years of experience. That's not to say that someday when you are experienced, I wouldn't buy from you. Sorry all these answers suck and people can be so crude. I've said this before and I'll say it again - it's unfortunate the lack of etiquette people have nowadays. |

Thanks for answering the question:) I repect everyones opinion and I would not buy from someone without any experience. Well actually everyone at some point din't have experience so ill say ill buy from someone with A LOT OF POTENTIAL and a good vision on what they want to achieve with their yorkies. |

sorry hun..i would not buy one..it's not the age but i will only feel comfortable with the breeder who has a lot of experience... |
No, I would not buy from a 17 year old but I might consider buying from an 18 year old. I know you said your mother would sign the contract but then I think she needs to be the breeder and you just help her. When you are 18 this wouldn't be a concern. I'd like to see experience, so I'd probably go with a breeder who is older unless you did all the important testing and know your lines well. It also doesn't sound like you own a Yorkie now, right? I think you need to own one before you consider breeding. Please take YorkieRose's advice. |

No, I would not purchase from a 17 year old. It nothing to do with maturity or your "program"...it's a matter of experience. There are simply too many more experienced breeders readily available. |
If you were in partnership with a very experienced breeder, then I would consider looking at your pups. However, I would not even consider looking at pups if I knew the breeder was a 17 year old with a parent as a "silent partner" and no active mentor participation. Because of the age/experience issue, I would require that the mentor be present when I was evaluating pups to purhase. |

my answer....no i would not buy from a 17 year old with no experience....if that 17 year old had been raised around breeding all of their life i might consider it if i knew about previouse litters....Just My Opinion |
People she wants to breed yorkies, not become a brain surgeon..or rocket scientist..as if this were even in the same category..haha..If you want to be the "best" at something no matter what it is, Learn from the best...Now would I have you do brain surgery on me at 17? No,.most likely not. Would I purchase a yorkie from you..Yes..if you were the best..Good luck and learn all you can!! |
