| Hair Loss We've recently moved house (mainly dark carpets in old house, mainly cream tiles in new house) and I've noticed Belle consistenly sheds hairs. I never noticed it in the old house, but that could be that they weren't visible with the dark carpets. If you give even the gentlest pull to her lower back, you will always come away with a good few hairs. Is there something wrong? I thought yorkies didn't lose their hairs? Are we doing something wrong? Diet? Not grooming her enough? |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Most dogs have an undercoat that constantly sheds, while yorkies hair is more like a humans. Hair goes through a cycle, dies and falls out, this is why brushing daily is important; to get rid of the dead hairs that if not removed can cause mats. However, your dog sounds like it could be losing more than normal, and a check-up might be in order. I know low thyroid can cause hair loss. I don't know what kind of diet your dog is on, but it seems like it would have to be woefully inadequate to cause hair loss. Another possibility is stress from your recent move.

| I agree. I would go for a check up, just to make sure. Quote:
