Deana, Thanks for posting this...it saddens me that our world has come to the point that we can't really 'show off' our kids for fear some idiot will steal them. I used to take great pleasure in taking my girls out and having people 'oooh and awww' over them. (Seems I am the only pet owner around my area that keeps their Yorkies in long coats and bows in their topknots) Now, I find myself even worrying when they're left home alone for a few hours. Let alone taking them somewhere. Sheila

Yep, its is sad Our license plate was Yorkies, we gave that up and went to a plain old license plate. We use to fly a flag with a beautiful Yorkie, we no longer do that either. No more show dog signs or anything. It is really a shame. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies and 2 Maltese

Yes, we did the same thing. Sad we have to hide the fact that we have these kids. I used to love when people would just fall all over my girls and I'd stop and chat for a long while....now I have found myself telling my husband when we are out, keep an even closer eye on the girls if I'm chatting. We'd never get over it if someone stole one of them. What's sad is that my girls really love the attention from people, and it has always helped keep them well socialized. A gal in another group told me she had her Yorkies in a stroller in Petsmart, and another lady actually hand her hands on the stroller handle bar and was attempting to walk away with it and her Yorkies. We have a travel trailer and in one of our groups, a couple had parked their travel trailer right outside the window of a restaurant where they stopped to eat. In broad daylight, someone broke the glass in the window in the door, reached in, and unlocked the door, and robbed them. No one saw a thing. Their cat escaped, and ran into the woods, but fortunately, she came out when they called her. I told my husband, I want a security system installed in ours, even though we never leave the girls inside alone. Sheila
