I love all the stories about your guys... Its amazing how they turn to mush:) |
Oh yeah Lee was definitely won over by Lexie when we first got her! When I started talking about getting a small dog all he could say was, "Just don't get a yorkie, they're so yappy!" Well after researching small breeds and running into a woman on campus with a yorkie, I knew there couldn't be any other breed for me. He was a little stubborn about it, but finally, after 2 months of begging, he bought her for me as my Christmas gift. Soon he was calling her his girl. Then 2 months after that he decided he needed his own "manly dog" and got our female golden, Jordan. He loves to wrestle with her, but you could still tell he had a soft spot for Lexie. Less than 2 weeks later we got a call from a friend whos aunt had died and left behind a 5 month old yorkie named Tucker. I looked at hubby and he was smiling and said, "Of course! We need another male around this house!" So yes my hubby got his "manly dog", but he still gets caught lovin' on the yorkies and getting his kisses in! |

My hubby allowed me to have my babies but for a while I could not have him help me out at all . . . through the years he has gotten so close to my Tiger that he is a constant companion to him during the evenings when I am sewing in my dungeon . . .they both hit the sack too since I am always to busy to join them . . . and these past months Tiger has been enjoying his warm body more than mine :) . . he even gets to change his belly band now whereas in the first year he never did . . .and the best part of it all, he thinks he is "papa" to my babies too  |
haha, yup my bf also loves on Belle even though he said when i got her that she was a girly dog...not only that, he loves to walk her in her pink leash and harness, and sometimes he even pushes the PINK stroller!! and carries her in the bag too sometimes... haha, he turned to mush :D |
Well my hubby has, but not enough to want another one, LOL!!! We have 5 babies (that's including the cat) and to be honest, that is ENOUGH! :p I love all my babies so much and am totally happy with the ones we have :) I will say though, that before we got our Yorkies, my hubby was one of those people that always said he didn't like Yorkies  His aunt used to have one and he said that- that Yorkie was sooooo spoiled and such a brat, LOL. She would nip at your heels when you walked and she'd bark ALL the time. Well, I told him that not ALL Yorkies are that way and that he needed to just hush up and give them a chance :p He did, and he is TOTALLY, TOTALLY in love with our babies :D I swear, if anything ever happened to them, I think he would (like me) go through a DEEP depression. They are seriously like our children :) |
My bf def. has! He never had a dog before me and now he can't live w/o them:) |
Absolutely! I posted this in a thread a while back.... Andrew was NOT happy about getting a Yorkie, but I drove him crazy about it. After we got Franklin, I promised he could get whatever "man-dog" he wanted. Well the other night, he told me he wanted "a million Yorkies!" My heart melted. :D |
Definitely! My fiancee got Toby for me this last summer, and when I would call him "our dog" he would say "your dog, he will never be ours". Needless to say, the day after we got him, he started refering to himself as "dad" and is definitely more lenient than I. Now when he talks about wanting another dog (he has always wanted a Great Dane) he says he wants another yorkie. |
DH got Sophie as a gift same ole story he will not walk her, carry her, clean up after her blah, blah, blah. I think two weeks later he was a goner. Did everything for her he even baby talked her while he bathe her:eek: It just melted my heart. He started bragging to all of his friends that out of the 4(big dogs) he's had before she was definitely the one with the most personality. We then decided to get Rambo first thing he says "Rambo is not sleeping on the bed with us, Sophie is enough" OK fine by me I never asked for Rambo to sleep with us he does just fine in his sleeping area. Well for the past three nights I've been noticing Rambo's area wide open and him on the bed. I'm like what happened to "No Rambo on the bed" he says oh it's fine now he doesn't take up a lot of space:rolleyes: Yeh I'd say my Dh adores his babies and I feel sorry for the person that ever messes with them;) |
Most definitely! My hubby is *almost* as yorkie crazy as I am! :D |

Awww, that's so sweet :) Hubby never wanted an indoor dog...period. We've always had retrievers. Several years ago, we had Misty (which we still have) and Chloe. It started snowing and the snow was blowing right into their dog houses. So I went outside and brought both of them in. I gave both of them a bath and made them a bed on the livingroom floor. Misty hated it! She wanted right back out. I made her wait a few hours for the snow to quit blowing and to make sure she was completely dry, but Chloe never went back out to live. She lived inside until she was 16 and passed away. Hubby didn't put up much of fight...not that it would have done him any good :D Then when Peanut came along...our rescue Yorkie, he was unsure, but Peanut won him over in a matter of days! He was totally in love. Now he talks about Abby all the time. (Abby is our furbaby that was born Jan. 25) I don't think he's as excited as I am, but he's excited. :) Even our 19 year old son had fallen under the Yorkie spell! |

aaahhh, that is so sweet......and funny, too!!! My Bf said he never had inside dogs!! He didn't like little yappers! But he loves Banjo! And Banjo really loves him! Sometimes I fell left out!! I think Banjo just really likes men- a guy thing!! But when something is wrong- he wants his MOMMY!!!! |
when I first got Jasmine my hubby was like oh my gosh I dont want a froo froo dog, I will tell you what jasmine is his baby he told me the other night he didn't know he could love her as much as he does, and i was like hmm and you didnt want a "froo-froo" dog!:D |
I'm still awed that my husband has taken to Elvis. He never wanted a dog to lick him or anything...but man! with Elvis he just melts around him! They have definitely bonded. DH is under the yorkie spell alright. :) |
Well, owning a yorkie was MY dream. And that dream came true about 4 years ago. Then came #2, a litter of puppies, #3, and number 4 will be here in a couple of weeks. If my hubby didn't LOVE "our" yorkies as much as I do, we surely wouldn't have this many. They all lay in his lap while watching TV...that is til I come over to join them. Then they transfer over to my lap and hubby's feeling get hurt a little. Since hubby and I got married to late to have kids of our own, our yorkies are "the kids we never had". So yea, he loves them alot!:D |
:animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa My husband said he was allergic to dogs as well as disliking them but I demanded a dog to keep me company as he works away a lot so he eventually gave in. The night we brought Tiny home his exact words in the car were 'I don't want to hear, see or touch the dog, it is your dog and I am not responsible for it' One hour later Tiny was asleep under his chin whilst he sat on the sofa, I have a pic somewhere I think! ha ha |
Oh yes, my hubby absolutely adores our Joj-Gee. And she absolutely adores him!! She is daddy's little girl. Like you others that have posted, I am nothing when Dad is home!! I get a big kick watching him do her top-notch. I usually have to re-do it though because he doesn't do it tight enough. When he does do it tight she has chinese eyes. Makes me laugh. Hubby is also always calling me to go to some pet boutique and buy the cute stuff he has found for her. I tell him just to buy it when he is there, but he has his limits, he says it is too girly for a man to buy. But he will dress her up at home, no problem!! |
haha not yet.. kevin has always had big dogs..but i do catch him giving them kisses sometimes.. so i think he is coming around!! |
My boyfriend and I just got our first yorkie baby boy (Dolce) on Tuesday! My boyfriend has had a pappillon (i hope I spelled that right) a couple years ago, but all of his other dogs have been either rottis or chow chows. He likes small dogs but wanted a maltese real bad. After we took in an abused/neglected Yorktese which we gave to his brother after extensive care and work, I finally broke him down to get a yorkie. Now he is buying clothes for the baby boy, and is even going to work part time while we have spring break this week just so he can be with the dog (any chance he gets to work more hours while he doesn't have class he does so this is really out of the ordinary). He keeps saying "how's my baby doing", and I have to keep reminding him that it is OUR baby, and I use to be his baby before the puppy came along! I guess that's what I get for letting the puppy stay at his house until we move in with his brother in 3 months! :p oh well, we're one happy little family, and everyone that has a yorkie knows what I mean! :animal-pa they are not just dogs, they are family. |
hehe...i know what you mean....MeiLing has my fiancee under her wings...i mean he can't stand it if she whines..he tells me to be quiet so she doesn't wake up from her nap...i mean i feel like i have been replaced by an expensive yorkie that i purchased...hehe...its too cute... |
Jim is the first one who suggested a Yorkie. I was looking for a small dog that I could hold easily. I have trouble with strength in my arms. I was looking at poodles and he saw a yorkie at the flea market. He told me to ask questions of the breeder and decided I could get yorkie. I found one for a good price and got my Gypsy. He cuddles her and plays with her a lot. |
i think nugget puts a spell on everyone...ill be walking him and watch people walk obviously out of their way just to come say hi to him =) he also turned my boyfriend and dad into yorkie lovers...they're just so irresistible! |
:yelrotflm :yelrotflm :yelrotflm My husband and I met on-line, and his profile said "No Dogs, No Kids". He had already done all that. He didn't realize I had a small yorkie at the time. Long story short....nine years later, we have EIGHT yorkies (counting puppies) and are raising two grandchildren. He's quite a guy. :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa :animal-pa |
We were sitting on the porch visiting with family and I had put a fleece blankie down for Maxwell to rest on. I saw my big, carpenter husband reach down and fold it over so Maxwell could have a little pillow to rest his chin on. It was soooo sweet.:p |
Maggie May is mine! However, she LOVES to lay on my hubby's lap to watch t.v. Probably because I am always sitting on this computer addicted to YT!!!! |
I begged for a yorkie for months and finally one day he comes walking in the door with Kobi!! He always said that he didnt really like inside dogs but now its him that gets Kobi out of his bed to snuggle with him on the couch or in our bed! |
