| well, I've told part of this story before, but here goes: I adopted my 2 from one of my daughter's dance teachers. The owner of the studio had a yorkie, and her adult daughter, also a dance teacher, got these 2 little yorkie pups, and when they were very new they would come to the studio some nights and be in the small office with the secretary. I know I had seen one of the pups through the little window from the waiting room into the office. But the secretary was very protective over the puppy - I think it was Bubba I saw, and he was such a cutie. Well, when Roxy & Bubba were less than a 1 1/2 yrs old the dance teacher mentioned to my daughter's class that she needed to find a new home for Bubba & Roxy because she was overwhelmed trying to care for them & a newborn & Roxy was jealous. The first time, I really got to meet them - their owner was teaching dance. so the dogs were over at her parent's and I went over & her dad introduced me to Bubba & Roxy. I was so apprehensive because I had never brought an adult dog into my home before & I was also afraid if I took the dogs in, their original owner might change her mind & want them back. Bubba loved on me pretty quick, but Roxy wasn't too sure. She's shy upon first meeting with anyone. The dad had to pick Roxy up and hand her to me, because she wouldn't come on her own. I sat & pet her as long she would let me. Then I played with them a bit. I think it was like 3 or 4 days later, I went back & picked them up and brought them to my house!! They adjusted very quickly once here. But they are always thrilled to see their first owner and her parents and older brother - they have all even cared for the yorkies if I've been out of town.

| .... well after years of thinking about it and doing tons of research on Yorkies we found a breeder and we had a lot of phone calls to each other and she emailed pics of her Babys. We could not decided so we said the first one that comes to us is going home with us. And when we sat on the floor Maya was the one that was interested ... so we took her home

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I've been looking at Yorkies and I told my husband that if I got another dog, I wanted a Yorkie. I don't know if he didn't think I was serious or not but I got pregnant unexpectedly and had a miscarriage over Thanksgiving and two days later, I was looking again at ads, called one up and she said, they had one little boy left. They lived outside of town but love to drive into the city so they offered to meet us somewhere. We did and I wasn't sold until I saw his face and picked him up and smelled his puppy breath! I fell in love with him. We aren't having anymore children (dh is making his snip appointment) so I'm babying my new baby and loving every moment of it. He's helped heal my heart.

| I met Pikko after talking to about 10 breeders. Pikko was located about 90 minutes away from the city. My boyfriend, sister, and her boyfriend all packed up into a car on a Saturday in November to meet my puppy-to-be. We picked Pikko at a young age (one month old), so we didn't necessarily let him choose us, nor did we really see a personality. He was smaller than his older brother, but bigger than his younger sisters. So he was right in the middle. He had a cute face, and we met his mom too. She had a great temperament, so that pretty much solidified our choosing the breeder who bred Pikko. He's been with us for over a month now and we love him! He's the best first dog I could've ever asked for! |

| Well, I am the proud momma of 2 wonderful cats, but have wanted another dog for a long time. I started looking online, knowing full well that I should not even be considering this! But oh well. I again joined Yorkie Talk as I had been on here years ago when I had my other babies. One day, someone mentioned a kennel Tsa La Gi yorkies, and I was very curious about the name. It is the Cherokee pronunciation of Cherokee. I found out a few years ago that I have some Cherokee ancestry and have been very curious about it. I went to the website and looked at the pups...I was so in love with the breed all over again! I contacted the breeder and asked about pups, and got the answer of $1600.00 for the cost of a pup. I told her that was way outside of my budget. So then she sent me this picture of an 8 month old boy she had held back for a lot less money as he is pet quality. Of course I fell in love with him and even named him before I knew I could really pull this off! I lost contact with the breeder when my computer went down, and assumed he was taken by the time I got back online. I started looking at rescues and found a girl I was interested in. I contacted the rescue and asked if I could possibly apply to rescue her. The I heard from the breeder back on Sweet William. Wanting to know if I was still interested. I gave the rescue a few days to contact me back, and when they didn't, I decided that Sweet William was meant for me...long story short...I adopted him as you all can see. My little man!

| Last year our family lost our little grandson at birth. We all attended a funeral instead of a christening. This was a most difficult time for us as we mourned for our son, his wife, and for ourselves as grand-parents. At that time I injured myself picking up my grand-daughter, trying to help out as my daughter-in-law was in the hospital. Unfortunately, my assistance was short-lived as I pulled muscles in the area where I had stitches from a recent surgery. Shortly before all of this happened I lost my Jack Russell, Ernie. He was 18 years old and of course a very important family member. I was confined to bed with my injury for quite some time. It was during this recuperation that I read "Fool Me Once", by Fern Michaels. The book was delightful story that was filled with Yorkies. I feel in love with the little characters and the rest is history. From my bed I researched the breed, breeders, and e-mailed various individuals to gain information. Here I am now with my little Sir Remington. He is a joy and he has helped all of us on the road to healing. |

| My mom and dad got a yorkie, Liberty, and I thought he was the cutest thing. It took a while to convince hubby to get one, but finally he wanted to do it also. So I was looking online (this was before I was a member of YT). I looked for about 6 months. Hubby asked me what was taking so long to find a "dog". I think that since he decided he also wanted a yorkie, he was getting anxious, thinking one would be here the next day. I told hubby I would know when I saw the right one. I saw Conner's picture in the nursery on the breeder's website, along with a few other yorkies. The eyes looking at me said, "Bring me home!!" He looked like he had fire and was spunky. I emailed the breeder and told her I wanted Conner. She insisted on a few long phone conversations and wanted us to be sure we wanted a dog. Finally, Conner was on a flight from Dallas (he comes from Oklahoma) to CT. The airport is 1 1/2 hours from our home. My husband had to go pick him up himself at the airport, as I had to take my nieces to have their pictures taken for dance classes. My husband went to th airport and was there a while before the plane landed. I told him what the breeder told me - give him a pea sized dose of nutrical and give him some chicken baby food she included. Well, the crate had ties on them that you could not get off without scissors (and he had no scissors and was already at the car). Hubby put the nutrical on his finger, thinking Conner would stay at the back of the crate, but the little bugger came over to him to eat the nutrical! Since hubby could not get him out of the crate, he drove waaaay over the speed limit to get the little guy home so he could cut the ties off. I was home on a break from pictures when hubby came home with Conner. He was not shy at all with us!! Just last night my husband said to me that if the breeder could see Conner now, she would be sorry she sold him to us - she would want him back!! Everyone in my family talks about how spoiled he is - but we don't care. He is our little guy.

| I was going to look at a little girl and she was 2lbs at 12 weeks old... The Breeder came in with her dog on her shoulder, no hair on her legs or ears, no tail, and so tiny and frail. Only 2lbs at 6 months. I asked her if I could hold her, and I completely forgot about the little fuzzy dog running around... I just wanted the little baby in my hands... she told me that nobody had wanted her because of her "problems" and that everybody had wanted a little fuzzy dog... But I fell in love with her the minute she snuggled up under my neck... I'll never forget that moment... I said... this is her... I know it... It took me 3 weeks, but I bought her! And she came home with me and has been snuggling my neck ever since! And her hair grew in completely... Now she's a big fuzzball! lol She is so smart... And she is just so funny... She is my pride and joy.

| I'd been wanting to get a yorkie for almost 3 years after reading up on them and seeing pictures of Kodak. I reached out to some breeders on AKC and a few people contacted me, but this one lady from Wisconsin stood out the most. Her compassion for yorkies came across in her email and I began corresponding with her. She had a liter in December of 2006 and I wasn't able to take one home due to financial obligations at the time. She reached to me again in June to let me know the liter would arrive in July and I reserved a female immediately. My little Kaylah was born on my grandmother's birthday, 1 day before my birthday on July 6th. I drove 2 1/2 hours on August 29th to pick her up and bring her and my life has been so much happier since she came.
