| Yorkie girl debates what to wear to Colorado! Hi! Kiwi and I live in California where 50 degrees is a cold day. She has sweaters, but really nothing else to wear. We are going to Colorado over Christmas and boy it looks like it is going to be cold! Could any of the cold-weather Yorkies give us some tips on what to wear? I think she needs a coat, but does she need boots/shoes? Also, is it a good idea to layer? I don't think she is going to be outside a lot, but she will be out some. Thanks in advance!

| We live in upper Michigan, and if you want an example of what we are used to, today when I got up for school at 9 a.m., it was -0.06 degrees Farenheit. Beau wears shoes when it is REALLY cold because I noticed his feet will get sore when he comes in and he will limp then lick them for a while afterwards. He also wears a winter coat when we go outside. He actually does seem warmer with them on too!

| I'd get boots so the feet don't get sore from the cold. The question is will he were them.

| Mine won't wear anything on their feet . I layer pj's under a jacket and that is usually fine. As soon as they come in I take a washcloth with warm water and wipe down the pads of their feet to get off any salt/ice. |

| OMG! I can't imagine how cold it must be when it is 0 degrees outside! I have traveled a lot, but almost always in the summer/fall when it is warmer. I seriously didn't even know about the whole salt problem... So I think I will buy some boots to see if she will wear them. I need some pajamas, too! Time to go shopping!

| I live in the mountains of Colorado and my dogs dont wear any clothes or shoes. They dont stay out for long periods of time and they are fine. We have some fairly decent winters here and many times we dont even have snow at Christmas time. It depends on what part of Colorado you are going to be in. |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | It is freezing here and i layer mine when i walk them or take them out. I put a tshirt on them, with a sweater over that and then their coats over that. If you want you can put boots on them, and also get a hat and scarf set if you feel like it. I think the really little ones get cold faster, i bundle my tiny ones extra just cause they shake more in the cold.
