YT 2000 Club Member | Dog Yorkies want to be with their owner. They want to sleep in the same bed . Must let him be with you. When you leave let him be with whoever watches him, these little ,lovers do not like to be alone. My one yorkie has separation anxiety and he will pee on table legs when I leave him. Dont crate that sweet dog. Keep him close zmd live him. These dogs are faithful friends! |

| Thanks again for your post. This has been the third night that Jake has slept quietly in his crate next to my bed without wanting any potty breaks. The fact that he is less stressed out makes me feel so much better. I can’t thank you enough for all the advice I’ve received here. Yes, YT is the best supportive community I have found on the Internet too! |

On the other hand, I think it’s also important that Jake feels the closeness of us by cuddling up, he’s old enough. I don’t think I’d let him sleep with us if he were a puppy though, I think it’s rather dangerous and he could be hurt. I try to find the balance between sleeping time in crate and our bed! | |

I’m so glad little Jake is finally getting to do what comes naturally to him, as much as he can manage there in his crate near you during the night. Now he can sniff, smell and watch you and all your bedroom anytime he needs to during the night from right there near you and no doubt can smell, hear much going on around your home, surrounding near territory, from his crate. Dog’s powers of observation are unparalleled. I know his urge to watch, protect you all through the night is mostly being satisfied, perhaps more than ever before. He knew you were each alone and apart all night and no doubt feels much better now that that is over, the pack is sleeping together like never before! He feeds off your nearby nighttime presence. Thank you for being responsive to his canine need to guard you with his own little nearby, ever watchful body, meeting as much of that urge of his as you feel you can right now. And no doubt, he feels you are protecting him through the night, just as natural pack-members do. And yes, all the cuddling, body rubbing, scratching, touching is just bonding you ever closer.

YT 2000 Club Member | Dog My Jojo has never peed in the house. Since he is 8 yrs when I leave the house he hits the legs of tables with pee. I put a belly band on him with a pad in it. It works till I get home. I wipe his belly when I take it off. No problems and no pee! |

| The issue with that though is it’s just putting a bandaid on the problem not actually fixing it.

| Hello again, I just wanted to give an update on Jake. He did really well when I left him to go abroad to be with my partner for his treatment. His crate sat next to the bed and he slept soundly all through the night until it was time to go outside in the garden to pee and poop! Then it was time for cuddles, tummy rubs and kisses on the bed! He bonded extremely well with my relatives who stayed in my house to look after him and my three cats. They were happy to do it and they grew fond of him. |

| Thank you for the up-date I hope your partner is well and Jake gets back to his normal routine before your partner became ill. Sounds like what Jake needed was to be closer to his humans at bedtime. Glad to know Jake did good while you were away.

| Thank you. Yes, Jake did well without us, I needn’t have worried so much about leaving him behind. Thanks for your well wishes for my partner. |
