I am so in. I have purchased a crate for Lexi and we will start tomorrow.

My Cindi Lu is 14 weeks. She is potty pad trained and backyard trained.

During the day she goes on her pad or outside if my son is home to take her in our backyard or by the slider I leave a puppy pad.

When I am home I take her outside ever few hours or she will go on the pad by the slider.

At night I keep her in a kennel not to big or to small. When I first brought her home I put a pad in half of it, but this week I removed it. She wines to get up about 2 twice a night. I keep a puppy pad in my shower at night I put her in the shower,close the door,tell her to tee tee. When she goes I give her praise cuddle her for a few and back to bed.

She is doing really good, I have noticed a couple of time I think she tinkles in her sleep.

I would like to keep her pad trained because we have a motorhome and enjoy road trips.

My Milly is 12 months old now and still tries to go in the house! She only goes in hallways (never the bedroom or lounge, where we go to relax), but if she sneaks upstairs when I'm not looking I can guess what she's been doing :(

I've periodically slept with her in every room in the house, and she has never toileted in those rooms since then, but I don't know if I can bring myself to sleep in the hallways!

Lily is now 12 wks old. I left her alone all day yesterday & today while I went to work. She did pretty well but I know she is bored even tho she has toys. Ican tell cuz she starts to shred her pee pads and bite on things she never pays much attention to. When I come home from work and let her out of the pen she runs around like a crazy woman. Hate to leave her for so long but I can't keep going home at lunch everyday. By the time I get there I only have 10 mins to spend with her and then I'm 15 mins late back to work. Exhausting and expensive. So, I am putting her in Puppy daycare a couple of times a week starting next week. We are also starting puppy 1 classes on Mon eve. Hope that will help. I can say that last nite I let her stay out of her exercise pen area for the whole eve till bedtime. She went back to the litter box to use the bathroom 3 times. She has been very consistent about that and still has not had any accidents (I do keep that diaper on her when she's out tho, just in case). I am off for 10 days on vacation starting 7/3 and my grandkids are coming for a month so she will not be completely alone for a while. After that I will try increasing her space. I really feel bad that she is so confined. Also she is in the biting stage and nips at my feet and ankles and it's annoying but I know it's a phase...I hope.

We just adopted a 5 month old. The so called breeder said he was potty trained when we visited the first time, also said the dog used a doggy door. WELL, when we picked him up, she changed it up.
He went to the bathroom in a pen, on hardwood floors in a certain corner! EEEK! Five months old, and trained to pee on the floor! Exactly what I'm looking for!

SO, I've read books, and I have a bag of treats, and I take him out every few hours or when he eats or plays and or paces.....But I don't know what else to do. He pees in his crate. Doesn't even have the natural instinct to not pee in his area cause she trained him to pee in his area. Ergh! Help!

We have a motor home too, I'd love to hear how this works out. My Shamus is 5 months old and has been living with us for 4 days now. He is not potty trained as the breeder implied, so I am starting from scratch.

At 5 months, even if they are potty trained, they might have accidents. What works for me and my monkeys is fencing off the potty pad area — if you want them to potty in a specific spot in the house. We have a fenced off area for them in the kitchen, and we can close them off on the potty pad. After eating, or playing, or sleeping we place them on the pad (especially Trezzi, Lulu is pretty good about going there on her own) and close them off there for about 10 minutes, while saying: "Go potty". and if they need to go it gives them enough time to do their business.

It took Trezzi about 4-5 days to figure out what we want him to do when we close him off on the pad. But then he got it. He is 3 months old, and there is still a long way till he is fully housebroken, but it's much better than how it was when we just brought him home.

After your puppy figures out the "right place" to go, and it will be well marked, he'll try coming back there most of the time.

Training 3 at a time
 

I'll join the group, as I have 3 puppies that are 13 weeks old. I'm trying to train them all at once. I bought a Ugodog and Wee Wee pads - trying to get them to go in one spot. That works for overnight, but not so much during the day. It's been fairly difficult. I take them out one at a time and try to keep them on a schedule with 3 meals evenly spaced. Funny thing is the smallest one (under 3 lbs.) is doing the best. The girl, Ginny, is fairly stubborn, not sure what to do about that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in...my Bella is 6 months and still having accidents.How about treats, does anyone use reward treats and if so, what kind..:rolleyes:

Lexi is also 6 months old. We had little success until I purchased a crate and we started putting her in the crate at night, when we could not watch her carefully, or when we were not home. I can't believe the difference! She has gone days without an accident. She did have one the other day but it was by the door and I was not paying attention. She doesn't really care about treats, praise works better most of the time. Do you crate your puppy?
