| Petco pulls dangerous toy I did a quick search and didn't see this posted anywhere yet. Have any of you seen this article/video? This is so scary! NewsFixer investigation prompts Petco to pull dangerous toy from shelves The dog in the story became sick after getting her new toy and when it was tested, it showed positive for: Trimethyl Benzene, Arsenic, Cadmium and Lead, along with Naphthalene, the main ingredient in moth balls. How many toys do we purchase that have horrible chemicals in them? I wonder how much of what we are giving our dogs is making them sick...if not now, maybe years down the road? I personally try really hard not to buy toys from China and make my best attempt to by American/Canadian made whenever possible. I hope that the things we get for Snickers are safe, but how do we really know? I think sometimes that maybe it's safer to make your own toys, but, even if you were to sew a stuffed toy, for example, is the fabric going to contain these nasty things too? I couldn't find anything on the Petco website regarding a recall as was stated in the story. I think they (and any other sellers of ANY product that is recalled) need to make that information known and as accessible as possible.

| I live in Houston area and never saw ANYTHING on any news station or newspaper about this! This is scary!!! I usually do not buy a lot of toys...and it KILLS me, because I adore shopping for my babies....I get those "pelt" looking things that have no stuffing, I get cotton rope and tie knots in it myself, I put a tennis ball down into the toe of a tube sock and tie a knot in the sock, I buy any of the Kong toys, I buy those clear hamster balls and put a treat or a toy inside and seal it shut for the babies to roll around...... these all seem to keep my group happy......but I can see myself buying this particular little toy for my 6-12 week old babies to snuggle with......NOTHING "MADE IN CHINA" WILL ENTER THIS HOUSE FOR THE DOGS!!! REMINDER TO ME: Must be even more diligent with reading labels!!! |

| We need to get back to the old fashion way of "making" their stuffies!! Wash the fabric really well first though because all new fabric IS treated to keep bugs out of it.

| Unless you buy organic cotton fabric & clothing, ALL fabric has some kind of toxin or another on it. They have done many segments on the news & other info shows on Always wash your new clothes & bedding Before you wear or use them. No matter where I buy pet toys, beds or blankets, I Always wash them well & rinse, rinse, rinse before giving them to my pets. Anything you purchase from food, dishes, cookwear, sheets, childrens toys, baby formula, all home goods & more, It ALL has something toxic on it or in it. |

| Petco pulls dangerous toy You have to be careful about toys and treats sold in Canada. U. S. A. has tougher standards. I watched a Canadian investigative show about rawhide treats made in china, sold in Canada as a Canadian product making dogs very sick. A lot of dogs became very ill and died. They are still on the shelf in Canada, but were pulled from the shelf in USA. Anyway , they have. a chemical in them that is very toxic.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Here's what came up when I googled: NewsFixer investigation prompts Petco to pull dangerous toy from shelves - LA Canada That story is from February 2012. It is amazing how many toxins are in toys...sure makes ya wonder how many pets are lost each year & how many owners have no idea why.

| That vid was scary, I haven't washed any of Joels stuff before I give it to him, he loves going through the shopping bags to see what I bought him. I guess I could wash them first and later when I come back pretend I just got them, lol. |
