Here's A List Of Pet Friendly UK Parks I haven't been around for a while but thought I would ask your forum if they have ever encountered hostilaty when taking their dog to a local pet friendly park? We are currently working alongside all the UK county councils in promoting these via our non-profit website : MAPS4PETS Outdoor Locations Please let me know as we are currently just revamping the whole website and will be able to pass on your comments directly to the county council in question. Best wishes Julia |
I am from the uk and it annoys me that there are no Dog parks in Newcastle or my local area of Northumberland (Hexham). I think the UK needs enclosed dog parks so then dogs cant run off and get lost but can still get exercise, walking on a leash is not enough to tire a dog out. I know ALOT of people in my area would use it if they where to put one near us. |
Hi Furbutt I hear what you're saying. We have a folder on each county council with the relavant contact name who is responsible for the parks. We are putting all these valid points to each area in question. Have you checked this list of all the pet-friendly parks in the North Country: MAPS4PETS Outdoor Locations |
Yes i checked the names of the parks but cant find any information on them. I live in a town which is in very rural location with lots of fields and rivers. I think it is important tho to have an enclosed area for the dogs so they cant not run off. I just have a 8week old puppy and will need to train her to ''come'' when called i would feel so much safer while i am doing this if it was in an eclosed park where i know she couldnt run off into the wild kinda thing. Also i live in Hexham which is 25miles from Newcastle or anywhere for that matter. If you google Hexham on google maps you would see how far out the way we are haha. I wouldnt be able to travel to any of the dog parks on the list for a daily walk. Maybe a weekly walk but it would be fantastic if they had something alittle closer to me. Sorry if i seem annoying lol. xxx |
I live in Tadley, Hampshire and we have a great field. I think its called Jubilee park? Anyway its enclosed and loads of dogs meet up there. It isn't on your list though. |
