| Jack Hello everyone, I havn't been on in a while because I've been so busy with... Jack the new puppy!!! He is a one year old yorkie/scottie cross boy rescued from the RSPCA-not a cruelty case but his previous owners couldn't handle all his excitement! He is the sweetest little character too and he adores Pippi (The fifteen year old Jack Russell princess). He barks all day but is so loving you can't be cross with him for his naughtiness! Jack is such a sweet little boy and so perfect for me! Pic below xxx |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I LOVE Jack, and good for you for taking that wild child and giving him a great home. You sound like a perfect fit. I never know what to do about barking. I resorted to the pennies in a can technique for one of my boys, and as much as I don't like using negative reinforcement, I think it worked pretty well. Our other is a nonstop yapper, and I've had no luck stopping that. But, as with you, it doesn't matter.

| the pennies in the can never worked for us. Tucker thought it was a contest to see who could be louder! I've cut Tucker's barking down to almost none. Now, don't laugh....when he would bark I would get down in his face and say "Thank you Tucker! Thank you for telling me someone is out there. Good boy" Now as soon as he starts I say Thank you Tucker and he stops! I SWEAR it's true! Welcome little Jack!
