Hello everyone, Max hasn't been well today, he appears to get travel sick. My poor wee boy was in the car and was sick twice. He's slept most of the afternoon and evening. Now the little devil has come to life, just as I'm getting tired lol. Since I last posted, I've been trying to get Max to come when I call him, to no avail. He looks at me, and I could almost swear he's laughing at me. We are supposed to be going on holiday for two weeks at the end of May, my younger daughter was supposed to be Max sitting, but she has a new job and it'll mean him going to kennels. We are thinking about cancelling the holiday. I'd very much appreciate everyone's input on the subject. Vivienne

Hello fellow Scot ! I am the mad Highlander up here on the outskirts of Inverness, with three 4lb tiny Yorkies.... Tara, >8, Casper, 5+, and Tammy, 4+. I have had Tara since a 6 week old puppy - got her in Bathgate in 2000. I bought Casper as a rescue - in 2004 at 19 months from Larbert....he was being attacked by his owner's breeding male. I bought Tammy in Oct 2006 from Peathill, near Fraserburgh - she was 3 years old and in a terrible state needing vetenary treatment. My hubby's dog is Tasha, age nearly 7...a show Bearded Collie, but we don't show her ! We bought her from Goole near Hull. I am usually on the GENERAL DISCUSSION if I am on, but I sometimes check on here too .....and I tend to be on through the night, when my hubby is on night-shift ! Hope to speak soon, Debra x x x x 1. Tara (The Queen) 2. Casper (Cheeky smiler) 3. Tammy (Tammykins / ASBO !!!) 4. Me last year with my babies at Loch Ness, a few miles south from my house.

In answer to question..... Don't leave him at kennels...it could ruin him for life....read "Boarding" thread on GEN DISCUSSION dated 17th - this is what happens..... Phone your breeder or the Scottish Yorkie Association and ask them if they know of another Yorkie owner who could take him into their home as part of the family for the time you are away...you could return the favour ! Also, advertise or ask locally....there are often older people who have or have had Yorkies and would be perfect ! If you google "Yorkie breeders", you could find some numbers yourself. I would take him myself, but Casper my male would be terrified of another male in the house and would shake, growl and bite through fear, as he was attacked by males before in his last home.....It was a lovely lady that had him and she was heartbroken giving him up, but she did it so he wouldn't be injured by her stud dog.

Hello everyone, We have one more boarding kennel to look at on Monday, and if we're not happy, then our holiday will be cancelled. I did have a look at the boarding discussion, and even the kennels I didn't like were no where as bad as those described. We have relatives in Dornoch, Highland, and I have an old friend in Fraserbugh, although I have lost track of her. I still haven't managed to post a photograph, but I've been having problems with my pc and I'm having to use the laptop. (no photographs on here) Max had a slight accident, he was having so much fun with his ball, he forgot to ask out. Progress has been made today, however, he is dropping leaves and other bits of debris, on command. I'm really pleased with him. I think I'll just keep teaching him one thing at a time. I think I've found a way to get him to come to me when we're out. I slipped his squeaky ball in my pocket before I took him out to potty. He ignored me when I asked him to come. I squeaked his ball and hey presto, he was there in an instant.

Who are your relatives in Dornoch ? ....I have the SHAW's of Evelix and Criech who are my Mum's father's relatives up there. Let me know if you have trouble getting someone to look after your puppy Casper would be my problem, but I would help if necessary I know what it's like....I have no-one either to look after my three, and we just don't go away....which is fine, but with our daughter reaching 18 in September, and me being 40, hubby 41, it would be nice to finally travel ! Such is life....and my doggies are my life ! Hubby is off nights now, so I am on the horrible lap-top....slow, temperamental ***** of a thing...I hate it ! By the way....where did you get Max ? I might have heard of the breeder ! Also if you fancy a pal for him, a friend of mine...where I got Casper from is expecting 5 puppies ! (Larbert) .....Debra, Inverness, Highland Scotland Tammy, Casper, Tara

Hello, My husband's cousin Sylvia has lived there for many years and brought her children up in Dornoch. They were brought up as brother and sister. Can't you guess where we got Max lol, Dundee That was a lovely kind thought, looking after Max, but I think even before we view the kennels, that we will cancel the holiday. I told my husband about your friends expected pups. The look I received spoke volumes
