| Well, imagion this. Im not a small guy. I am 6foot4 shaved head, just a big guy who is a teddy bear. I take Tito everywhere with me. I have be asked to leave a shopping mall, wal mart, LCBO (liquor store) and dollar-rama But not out of Home depot, doctors office, movie theater and future shop I dont take him to places with food. I respect that but some places and some people are just to picky. If I was a female I do not think I would have been asked to leave some places. |

| I live in Brampton and I tried taking Lucky in Walmart and the Greeter said I had to leave! I would love to take my baby shopping with me but I don't even try anymore, unless it's the pet store...I kinda take it personal when someone says that thay don't allow dogs in the store!!! Grrrrr I have seen some pretty dirty habits with kids.... our babies have better manners!!

| I'm new to YT and I just found the Ontario section. I live in Ottawa and I take Saphira everywhere with me...I don't think I have ever left her at home. She sits in my purse and sleeps the whole time we're out...until she gets nosy and sticks her little button nose out the top I've never had a problem.

| In Halifax, we actually have a few sites that list pet friendly places. When you walk down Spring Garden Rd. most places that allow pets have water bowls at their doors (mind you it's probably not the best idea to utilize them) but it's a sign that you're pooch is allowed there. Like I had to pick up an order at Lululemon and I thought Harley wouldn't be allowed, so I put him in his purse. When I got there they all wanted to see him, and they had water and treats. If it has a no pets sign i respect it, however I do have a special purse to hide him in. I've sneaked him into a few government offices too... |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | In just my opinion - wherever food is sold (grocery stores) I wouldn't try to sneak or just walk in - they have health regulations some restaurants are pet friendly but as far as grocery shopping I wouldn't do it - I doubt anything would happen legal wise but they normally don't allow any pets in stores that sell food - I'm talking about the big stores - Kroger - Randalls etc It's fun to take them everywhere but also - you don't want to be asked to leave if you've already made the trip......I took my Chanel to Walgreens when she was a baby and they loved her but I was surprised they didn't ask me to leave since they sell food too - at that time it never crossed my mind I was going against regs - she was so small that I guess that's why I got away with it |

| I travel with Harley a lot, and last time I went home (we don't have AC in our car) I had to stop several times to cool off Harley. I was surprised the major Big Stops (gas station with resturant and gift shop) allowed me to bring him into the bathroom with me. I think in certain situations they are very respecting... They also hauled out a box of treats. So I think in the summer it's ok. Because no matter what, you CANNOT leave him in the car. |

Theives have even broken into pet stores and targeted only expensive dogs - To share a story - I was walking my 2 a few weeks ago and someone started asking me all sorts of questions about mine - cost was the main question and I downplayed everything and said they were senior dogs lol - then walked a totally different direction so they couldn't see where I lived. It was a bit unsettling

That is so unsettling and scarey and hell. My boyfriend is from Ottawa, and he's paranoid about that too. In Halifax I've never heard of it, but I'm sure it happens. What do theifs do about a micro chipped dog. (the thought just scares me). If people ask me about my guy, I don't share price, I always just tell them about the wonderful breeder i got him from. Most of the time the people actually call the breeder and buy one. I've been lucky. I never let the little guy out of my sight... but we gave notice to our appartment and they've been showing it. That scares the crap out of me. becuase they have the right to show without telling us. I'm worried either someone will come break in, or they'll lose him, and I'll never get him back. (I've set up his room, so there should be absolutely no reason to move his gate, or touch the dog as a precautionary measure) but the people in our building are really inconsiderate.

| OMG! NOW im kind of scared! i wont take bella with me anymore! I have had to leave her in the car while i go to a store to buy something i forgor but now that you say that. I wont take her with me anymore unless im going to a pet store or something... I really neever thought of someone stealing you dog but true true true.. there are all kind of crazy people out there. And about stores, i have taken bella to the mall once, and nobody said anything. Maybe I was just lucky but i have seen people with their dogs inside stores. Also, i took her to the post office because what would you do when you are walking your dog and then you gotta go to that store and sneak your little one. And another place where i really sneak inside a bad was at subway.. i just went inside to order and ate outside.. and she was inside her carrier and nobody noticed. Now that i remember one teacher in my college has her dog in her office. and everybody seems to like him and they dont say anything! |
