| Recommend Breeder Hi Everyone, Just wanted to introduce myself and my new baby, Sabrina. I bought her from Hylan Acres Ann Wylie. Sabrina is a retired momma and she has wrapped her little paws around me and my husband's heart. I guess you could say I have Yorkie Fever. I visited with Ann in her home for a long time and you can tell she loves what she is doing. I can't say enough good things about her. I talked with several breeders before I made my decision. One breeder wanted to meet me in a parking lot in Dallas, but needless to say I ran the other way. It is true buy your breeder first, then your puppy. When I have pics I will post. Sorry this is so lengthy but, I just want others that are looking for a good breeder, Ann might can help you. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Hi and welcome to YT. That's sweet you're so in love with her, yorkies do that to us♥ It's interesting you've brought up this breeder and are referring her to others now, as she was recently mentioned in another thread. It is a big responsibility to recommend a breeder. I might be afraid another person's experience wouldn't be the same as mine, and perhaps they could get a sick puppy or dog.

YT Addict | Hylan Acres ~ Excellent Breeder I am so happy you went to Anne for your baby!! We just got Teddi from Anne Wylie on December 1st and he is just wonderful! Healthy, happy and beautiful! Of course Teddi was a baby (4 mos. when we picked him up in Dallas). He was sired by Ch. Hylan Acres Ridin' the Storm who is the cutest little guy. We were unable to visit with Anne in her home due to time constraints on our part, however we did have lengthy phone conversations, were sent photos and corresponded by email at every opportunity (including when she was busy at a show with Merit!). You really can tell that she loves her kids and the Yorkshire Terrier breed! We also spoke with many breeders before choosing Anne and one here in Florida wanted to meet us somewhere and the others were a little too pushy about the 'sale' - not the welfare of the puppy. We are very pleased to have been able to find such a loving, reputable breeder willing to share a member of her family with us. Congrats on the new addition!! Cannot wait to see pictures!!

And yes..Ch Hylan Acres Ridin the Storm is indeed a little cutie. However, isn't he the male that produced a litter of Parti and parti carrier pups?

Recommending a breeder on one's own personal experience in buying a puppy, is a big responsibility. Something I wouldn't recommend anyone doing. I think most breeders love their dogs. To the OP congratulations on your new pup.

No Longer a Member | Hylan Acres, Anne Wylie Congratuations on your new puppies but since this is breeder review section I have a question about this breeder. I was also wondering why a YTCA member can still continuously breed a known parti carrier and sell pups and remain a member? Ch Hylan Acres Ridin the Storm was proven thru DNA to be the sire of a litter of puppies Born 2/25/07 3 of them were Parti colored. The dogs from that litter are: Crownridge Talk of The Town TR65165502 Hylan Diva's Harlequin Romance TR65165503 Hylan Diva's Mardi Gras Party Girl TR65165504 Hylan Diva's Dannilynn Has It All TR65165505 Hylan Diva's Remington Blue Steel TR65165506 Link to the pedigree. Are YTCA members allowed to breed Parti's or carriers. Isn't this against what the YTCA stands for? Anne Wylie is still purposely breeding a known parti carrier, Yet she remains a member and still passes this gene on each time she breeds Ridin the Storm and apparently is not revealing it to customers. Is that not against YTCA ethics to not reveal that the dog is a known carrier to people purchasing your pups? If she is showing any of his puppies isn't that the same as some of the parti breeders showing their carriers? |

| dumb question here ...but is the male disqualified from showing if he produces different "color" offspring? does that mean his lines are not pure? i know there are parti color yorkies and as beautiful as they are i know they are not recongized in showing and akc registration... but parti yorkies are still purebred, right? are they considered a pigment error? thanks for any clarification...i do not own are parti's but do love how they look as well as the yorkie standard |

Yes, if this is being done by a YTCA member it does go against what the YTCA stands for. In addition, if I may ask, the dam of said puppies.

| I thought Parti-Yorkies were recognized by AKC but they weren't the standard, but the Alternate? But either way... parti-colored Yorkies are so darn cute. Congrats on your new yorkie. Can't wait to see pics!!! American Kennel Club - Breed Colors and Markings

I have been a member here for some time and I know that things can get dicey but I cannot believe that this is still 'heresay' that is being perpetuated! I joined when my darling Gizmo was ill with Chronic Renal Failure. Something I would never wish anyone to EVER have to go through. It was a heartbreaking 7 mos of a long goodbye all the time knowing the ultimate outcome. When Gizzy did pass it was horrible and killed part of me inside. Some time later, when my husband and I went to the YTCA site in good faith and contacted several members to obtain a new baby we had a difficult time finding one in Florida. One member in FL wanted to charge us $2800.00. Others in other states were more compassionate but did not have babies at the time. Anne Wylie was kind enough to share her family with us. My recommendation is from a pet owner standpoint. When you are in love with the breed but realize you cannot afford to show or breed yourself but are trying to be a responsible pet owner, your concern is to bring home a happy, well adjusted, healthy baby and that is what we have. This forum and some of the people here have helped me through some very rough spots with my child's passing but I cannot in good conscience continue to be a 'full' member or consider becoming a donating member while there continues to be back biting and nastiness among people who are owned by one of the most intelligent, loving breeds that God put on this planet. I cannot tell you how sad this makes me. I wish everyone and their families Love, Light, Compassion and Joy in this New Year.
