| State Kennel lisense for Breeding Does your state require you to be lisensed by the state as a kennel if you breed more than one litter per year? We have had several puppy mills closed in our town and everyone who has a couple of litters a year are confused about why the state of Georgia requires even hobby breeders to have a lisense. Makes no sense to me. My dog are pets and I have had only one litter this year. I do not consider myself a "breeder". I am confused. Are there any breeders in Georgia or what does other states require? |

| Interesting question! I don't know about Texas, but have never heard of such a law.

| First, if you put 2 dogs together and make puppies, you are a breeder. The law applies to you if that IS the law, which I have no way of knowing. We have the best of intentions and then we learn we are doing something illegal. I am sorry to hear of your situation... |
