| Age old ?, my yorkie's coat okay here is a pic of scrappy before his tragic hair cut, he has no more hair...lol but i wanted some opinions on what type of hair he has. i think its cottony but looking for more information. this picture is at 6-7 months old he will be a year old on xmas eve. thanks!! okay not his best pics and sorry no batterys for the camera so i cant take new photos of the new "do" |

| his coat is very thick and full and heavey, he lost weight when we shaved it |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | He looks to me like a thivk cottony coat like Cali. I am thinking of cutting her short due to excessive matting from allergy scratching. I am so afraid!!!

| i like the way his coat feels now but he doesnt have the yorkie look anymore, i think its the way my husband shaved him, he has like a snauzer cut now |

| Going by the flashes in his eyes from the pics, he probably does have a cotton coat. Green is almost always silky. Amber to red color means cotton to modified coat. This is one way to tell, it's usually right on. HTH, Susan |

| Sure, most times, you can tell their coat by what color their eyes flash in the picture (as above). There have been many threads about this... I never introduced it, but can confirm that it works for me. |

| Thank you so much. I always wondered what my yorkie was truely....Her eye flash green. I have a silky coat. That is so awesome. Thanks for letting me know that trick.

| lol..ill see what i can do about some batterys but the cut makes him look like a snauzer, ikts very disappointing..but at least i can blame that on the husband, he isnt a dog groomer and at least they spent some quality male bonding time together |
