Fighting Females

Boy.. that sounds exactly like mine. My "problem" is living with my daughter now down the street. She just about killed one of my females ( in every other way she couldn't be sweeter.) The worse fight ... I tried water, didn't work ( my kitchen was covered with water) luckily my husband was home and he grabbed one and I had one and we got them apart. One had a bloody eye and the other had almost passed out from a choke hold. Everyone recovered thank-goodness.

Kept them seperated for over a year and then my daughter talked me into giving her up.

I have seen people post this type of post on lists before, and then one day they just ran across the street, or out to the mail box, and the dogs that never, ever had problems before, end up with one being tore apart by the other. I feel that some of mine are trustworthy too, but I absolutly will not take the chance of something happening, I would never forgive myself, because they trust me to do what is best for them.

very good advice...first and foremost its our responsibility to keep these dogs safe...I have had this experience as well and the only way to leave the home without fear is to crate for their own safety!

Sadie (3 yrs old) will sometimes have agressive behavior towards Lillie (7 months) Usually this will happen if there is alot of comotion going on...Lillie has no idea what's going on...she is the sweetest little thing...never starts a fight...Just a very happy little girl...Sadie is too for the most part but, she was the only dog until August...She is ALPHA DOG...I had spoken to a trainer and she gave me some pointers on how to deal with this...So far so good! Haven't had any "attacks" for a while...for the most part they get along great.

i'm sorry if i may seem ignorant about this maybe i don't have as serious of a problem with my females ?

but i understand what your saying i would feel horrible if something were to happen but because they mostly get along and like being around each other i wouldn't want to keep them separated permenanatly. i really only have problems w/my girls fighting when they are in heat

Please be careful in a breeding situation (intact) ...never say never...thats what I thought too!

i do try to keep them apart during their heats, but because my dogs are my children i hate to keep them kenneled unless nessasary. i do know that you can never be too careful.
