Fendi Went Into LaboR AT ABOUT 12 MIDNIGHTAnd I Brought Her To The Vet AT ABOUT 12:30NAnd They Did A C Section She Had 4 Puppies They Said The First X Ray Wasnt Clear...2 Boys 2 Girls...shes Ignoring Them I Put Them Next To Her And She Turns Her Head And Runs Away...she Hears Them Cry And Isnt Responding...i Gave Them Some Milk From A Formula And I Keep Trying To Put Them Together *WITH MOMMY*...how Often Should I Feed The Puppies Since She Doesnt Want Them?? And Any Opinions On What To Do?? i have ther placentas and umbilical cords...also if i give her a placenta to eat and then rub the pups with another one isnt she going to eat the pups bc she just ate the placenta?

Oh DM, the last part made me laugh. Wow, first, congratulations on your new babies. I hope that some of the experienced breeders can give you some advice on this. I am expecting our first litter anytime, so i'm a dummy on how to get Mom to bond with pups. Please someone help her!!!! Good luck dear and I will keep checking on this for you.

congrats on the puppies. i am glad they are finally here. mommie may not be feeling too well just having a c-section. someone should be on line soon to help you. i would just keep trying to put them together. i do know the pups needs to be fed every 3 hours

i feel so bad they want ther mommy so bad it breaks my heart...i dont know if its bc of the anesthesia bc shes just sleeping now and just relaxes or if its bc she doesnt want them...no interest in them at all looks the other way and or runs...its like shes scared of them...one of the puppies is constantly crying i fed her 3 times in the last 35 min and she stopped but started again...i will bring them to the vet in the afternoon but until then im clueless i was so concerned about her making it and the pups that i didnt even think of her turning her back on them the way she is...any advice would be great il be online reading and all so i can watch the babies...ther just gorgeous

i thought it was every 3-4 hrs i havnt stopped feeding them but just now they all settled in and are sound asleep...mommy is just sleeping on my bed with her daddy and im in the living room with the babies so its nice and warm i have a heat lamp on them and a water bag under them for now...my poor baby *mommy* is so tired and out of it i tried a few times to put them together and even just leaving it next to her or putting one on her nipple and she jumped and walked away

Oh I hope a breeder comes on soon and gives you some answers. I bet you pups are adorable. You will have to post some pictures. You could pm Feminvstr. She is an experienced breeder. I am sure she could help you

I have been looking for some news on them. I wondered if she would need a C section.

It might be because of the anisthetic that she is ignoring them. Eating a placenta might help her.

And I thought you had to feed them every 2 hours.

I'm trying to learn from this, cause some day it will be me.

i may b over feeding them every time they cry i feed them but one wont stop crying

Congratulations on the new babies. What a joy!!! I've only had one litter thus far and my mama did just fine.

I would suggest you lay down with her and the puppies when it is feeding time, pet her, soothe her, but be calm yourself. From what I understand and those that I have talked to with the same circumstance, the mama will most likely come around in a few days. You'll have to supplement until then. Weigh the puppies so you'll know if they are gaining. Best wishes.

Congrats on the babies. Make sure you take a wet (warm) cotton ball and gently wipe the babies private areas after you feed them. The mommy usually does this by licking to stimulate them to go potty.

You don't want to overfeed. Every two hours is enough. Sometimes when a baby cries all the time, something could be wrong. Is it definitely getting nourishment? Are you bottle feeding and they are taking it alright? When my mama's milk dried because of mastitis, I used an eye dropper for they wouldn't take the bottle very well. I'm sure more experienced breeders will have more information.

Congratulations and there should be someone who can help you - I've heard moms will do this sometimes after a C-section - it's like they don't know they gave birth because it wasn't natural -
