| Personally, I think one day of age ois too young to do the tail. the baby needs to be a bit more established in its nursing, etc. I like a longer tail so I do them at least leaving a quarter of an inch of the black showing and all the brown. One way to judge is to dock where the tail starts to get thinner... |

| I think Tatum's is a perfect length but I have to laugh at Stormie, our Australian Shepherd, all the time because she has NO TAIL. That's standard for that breed I think but it's kinda funny to see her wag her whole butt!
