........................I m biting my nails in anticipation ...... tick tock tick tock.... =) |
WHAT no puppies yet!!!!!! poor lil momma, poor you lol, to much excitement for me, bless you. |
Haha imagine me!! I'm nervous leaving the house for more than 30 minutes LOL!!! She isnt showing any signs though other than just being lazy but I think that's attributed to how MONSTROUS her belly is now LOL! I think the red that I'm seeing is her milk that came in and everything is so tight on her belly. I hope she has them tonight but she's shown no prelabor signs. Atleast for sure the puppies will be well done cooked LOL! |
I just checked her vagina and there was a huge chunk of discharge dried up and yellowy but only the dry part. I put on some gloves to try and remove it and a whole string of clear discharge came out. Is this the mucus plug?? Or maybe it's a sign of pre labor? |

Well it's terrific that you have a vet that's on stand by. I hope you have called or bought momma in to see the vet. Keeping lil momma in my prayers for a safe delivery and chubby puppies. |

Just checking in. The mucus plug in humans is usually a little pink. Stringing is a term commonly used with goats and is a sign of pre labor when the mucus changes viscosity and is more abundant. Keep an eye out for bad smelling discharge or signs of infection. Even though a temperature reading doesn't necessarily consistently signal labor it is not a bad idea to keep track of her temperature- especially if there are changes in her discharge. 'Hard dry yellow mucus chunk' doesn't sound awesome necessarily. Gentle excercise can definitely stimulate labor if it is time but I would be careful not to over do it. I am also glad you have close contact with your vet. My ears are perked for news! |

Well we're hours away from day 63 if I'm counting from the first tie. I started taking her temperature and as of 9pm tonight it was at 100.6. Her belly feels VERY hard especially after eating. She has almost no room in her belly anymore. My biggest worry is that she will need a c section if the puppies keep getting bigger and bigger. She wasn't eating her puppy food so I mashed up a little vienne sausage and added it to her puppy food with milk and let it get soggy and I've been giving her little portions throughout the day (3 small meals). She's in here helping box now and won't come out. I'm going to move the box to the quietest area of the house and cover the top with a blanket so it's warm and dark for her. Keep those prayers coming! My poor baby :( |
Do we have puppies????? |

So last night her temp was 100.6 around 9pm...around 11 I took it again just to see if it had changed and it went up to 101.6. This morning it was at 100.0 on the dot. I called the vet to let them know and I'm just waiting on a call back from the doctor at this point...she's acting perfectly find otherwise. No colored discharge, no smells, I've noticed her poops getting softer and softer and this morning she completely refused to take her vitamin. Only drinking water and staring at me lol. |
Temp. Doesn't always work. As long as she's fine and not stressed and puppies are moving just sit back and relax she'll have them when she's ready she might not have taken the first tie. That mucous you mentioned before was her plug so the puppies could come anywhere from a day to a week and a half after they shed it. As someone who has close to 10 years experience breeding I understand that is nerve racking but it's a waiting game. It sounds like she's close if her stools are softening and she doesn't want to eat anymore. If you kinda ignore her while she's in her box instead of watching her and fussing over her it could help her stay close by so you can hear her see but what she's doing but don't solely focus on her. |
Thanks for the update, poor lil momma, and you must be on pins and needles. Hoping by now you have heard back from your vet. |

Shes definitely showing some signs of pre-labor now. Staring at me and barely wanting to eat. She also was kind of moving like with her breaths...she was sitting staring at me and kinda bobbing her head with each breath as if it was labored. Anyway, I'm going to take her into the vet so he can just examine her and make sure the puppies are where they should be. I don't think another x-ray will be necessary at this point. |
Great that you're taking her to the vet, the vet should be able to see / feel if the puppies are in the right position for delivery. Praying that sweet momma has those babies today. |

I think her water just broke or she just lost her mucus plug!!! The vet told me to look for a dark green discharge. She had a bunch of fluid all over her earlier that dried and I just checked her bed in her whelping box and there's a dark green stain! It might be a little graphic but I'll be attaching pictures. I just took her temp as well and it's at 99.7!!! Hopefully we'll have puppies by tomorrow night!!!! http://i68.tinypic.com/9t07dh.jpg http://i67.tinypic.com/o0c4tc.jpg |
Everything is happening so fast now lol. All the signs are showing up. Just took her out for the last time tonight to pee and poop and she has more of that green discharge coming out from her vagina and also very loose stools but not quite diarrhea! |
How exciting & how nerve-wracking! I will be praying for you & momma & all of her babies. |
