Question.. puppies turning brown? howdy there! i have a question about a litter of mine that is two weeks old today... they eyes have opened... soo exciting! ive noticed in the last few days that a few of the puppies are started to get a brown color in their black coat... right now its just on the top of the head and it wasnt there before, kinda at the base of the skull on top of their heat between their ears, its subtle but noticeable because they were all solid black before and i didnt think they did any coat changes till much older... my female is pretty light with golden patches in here coat and her mom was VERY gold. no grey/blue saddle, just gold and tan. and the dad is the solid black coat with the tan underneath. i will try to get photos

Oh wow yes this is first litter, mentor hadn't seen it and just suggested maybe because of my females lines and i'm a dog groomer and haven't seen young pups like mine but all the puppy hair I'd shaved off was black. Thanks!

oh really! how exciting, i havent gotten into showing or exhibiting, hardly can even say i am into breeding, but grooming is what made me get a yorkie... not because they were so cute, considering i saw so many so cutes weekly... and i generally am a big dog gal.. but there was one yorkie that came in to get groomed and they lived about an hour out of town, and she had the coat that was a black and tan, beautiful black in the face and on her head and she was gorgeous when i got thru with her! i wanted a black and tan so bad, and a few weeks later a regular had come in and she had pups, i can remember giving her the maturnaty cut, and only one lived, and she wanted it to go somewhere she would get to see him, and thats how i came to my michaelangelo. after seeing parti's i hope to get one as well.
